I'm thinking of getting Collinite 845 as LSP for a White Acura car. For application, would it be better to do it using a GG RO polisher with black uber pad or by using a red uber applicator pad by hand (http://www.detailersdomain.com/Uber-Red-Wax-Applicator-Pad_p_246.html) If applying using a pad by hand, how many of these pads will I need to wax the entire car? Thanks
If you do it by hand, you will only need one applicator. If applying it by machine, LC Gold and B&S Red are both 100ppi and the softest available. The black pads are 90ppi and still have a wee bit of cut to them.
Use black/DA. It will apply easily and a little goes a long way. I used the flip-open dispensing top from an old Menzerna bottle to make it easy to apply to the pad.
awesome, thanks for the quick replies. I'm making an order from detailers domain and it looks like they only have the black uber 5.5 pads so i'll go with that. Would I need more than 1 of these to apply the LSP to my entire car?
Great tip. So do I. It should come with one. Its like they don't know we shake the shit out of it until it turns to water. Good idea. I should have been more complete in my answer. I keep thinking everyone has a kazillion applicators lying around.
Oddly enough I suggested this to Collinite years ago and they said They don't to keep the cost down. I am sure everybody would be willing to pay the extra 5 cents for a nice lid but I suppose it has something to do with the bottling machine???
Given how cheap most of Collinite products are I'm sure they are going to stick with what works, however, like mentioned it would be FANTASTIC if they put a more viable dispensing cap on the bottles. I think my forearms have gotten bigger since using 845.
I used 845 this past weekend on my fiancee's car for the first time and I am using to OTC waxes in the past so how much is a "little"?
