I have a lot of product that I purchased four years ago when I got a new car, fell prey to the detailing crack addiction and spent money on things I didn't "really" need. So I have some Glanz wax, galons of adams detail spray/window cleaner/soap, einszett leather cleaner/conditioner, PO85rd, VRT, P21S and probably some more I am not thinking of. How long will they last, I have had them for four years now. Still in their containers with caps/lids on tight and stored in my garage, which does get slightly warm/cold during the seasons. Thanks
This is been discussed a little bit but the consensus is: Liquid cleaning products should be good indefinitely. Sealant should be fine most of the time - Separation may occur so always shake before use. Polishing/compounding products are similar to sealants. Waxes can dry up if left in heat or extreme cold so keep temp regulated (many people keep nubas in wine coolers or well regulated fridges to help longevity). Otherwise, at the very least most nubas will last 3 years.
I keep everything in my Fridge regardless during the summer, its 120 in my garage...... so I will assume that is not good for anything
Thanks, I noticed that my gallon of adam detail spray looked a bit murky, hopefully some good shaking will mix it up well. I figure natural waxes won't last (don't have any) and clay bars (I had a half that was never used that was wrapped in plastic and in its plastic containter). Just got a new car and I am getting the itch to buy some new things, I don't want to go down that road again...
most natural waxes will be fine you may lose some of the solvents that are added to these products to make them easier to use, but the wax is not going anywhere. Most of these waxes are heated to some extent to fill the containers during the manufactoring process anyways so mild heat should have no effect on them, the problem would be if it were heated to the melting point of one the chemicles in the wax and not the rest causing seperation. The worst thing that would happen is they seperate and cause the wax to fail or be difficult to apply/remove. Paste or liquids in a sealed container can take a lot of heat, just shake them and they should be fine. Freezing on the other hand is a worse problem IMO.
