I have seen several different methods....from spray and wipe...to using a hose and proceeding like paint.....to ONR....

Im curious how do YOU do it?

ONR is my method, either that or Last Touch depending on how dirty it is :)

Pump sprayer with TAW, Swissvax or Meg's slide lock to agitate, turn the faucet down and sheet to rinse or wring out a soaked MF.

I usually spray the jambs with APC, agitate them with a soft bristled brush, rinse them, and follow up with a blower or compressed air to thoroughly dry them.

I use my steam cleaner and also wipe down with QD. Door jambs are never dirty enough for me to do anything else.

I haven't figured out a go-to method yet but I've tried a few different things. I've done it via steamer and chemicals/agitation/rinse. I just purchased my Karcher so I'm thinking I might use it to do a pre-rinse, then apply chemicals, agitate and rinse again with the Karcher.

Either using a APC or degreaser soak the jambs, let sit for a few, agitate with toothbrushes, and some small detail brushes. Rinse with either the hose or pressure washer (on side jambs). Repeat if necessary.

Megs APC 4:1, or P21S TAW. If jambs are just dusty - QD.

Majestic Solutions Super Green Stuff APC in a trigger bottle as a pre-soak. Then brushes - either the Swissvax wheel brush, or a knockoff, depending on what falls to hand easily. Yellow Costco microfibers here too - wrapped around stuff like the hinges and run back and forth, sort of like when you dry your back after getting out of the shower. If there are black stains from weatherstripping, clay usually gets those off. Something on all the weatherstripping too - either Vinylex or 1Z Gummi Pfledge.

After the rest of the car is basically done, I'll go back over them with an easy to apply LSP, usually Werkstat AJT.

When the snow clears, I'm headed to the local Harley dealer to see if they've got S100 Total Cycle Wash. I'm hoping it's the same as P21S TAW, only for half the money.

if they're not too bad, I've really come to like ONR QD mixed 50/50 with OID. I made this solution experiementing with OID because on my daily driver, I was getting streaks with OID so I mixed half a bottle with the ONR QD and I love it. It really gets used a lot on door sills and all the painted areas around the doors.

Dirty areas like the hinged parts get simple green dilluted 10:1, soft bristle brushed and rinsed with light pressure.

Thanks to all that have replied....

A little background, my pressure washer got stolen right out of my garage...so im using just a hose and nozzle right now..how do you guys not just soak the carpet/interior when rinsing the jambs? I have always been APC 10:1 then wipe off and seal...but i think rinsing is something that needs to be done, i guess im worried about being messy...any thoughts?

Usually with the pressure washer Im able to not get anything inside. I have placed a piece of carboard in the door opening on really dirty jambs that I needed to use more pressure though.

Forgot about that one! When doing the full wash, I always make sure to shoot a stream of water through all the gaps between the doors and body panels, starting from the top down.

I normally just spray on APC and then use my steam cleaner. This method works really well and saves me a ton of time. For door jambs that aren't too bad, I just use a qd.
