After organizing my vacuum attachments tonight for the Vac n Blow, I realized that I would never use the Dusting Brush for actual dusting. I find it works really well on carpets with dirt and gravel stuck in the fibers. The brush is too rough for plastics and vinyl. I decided to upgrade tonight and did some research. I ordered from a company called Total Vac and got their Horse hair brush attachment for 1.25 inch hoses. Here's a pic. If it performs as well as I hope it will, it should definitely shave some time off detailing around the center console, vents, steering wheels, seat crevices, yada yada. I hope this replaces anywhere I would use a brush in conjunction with my vacuum. The bristles look to be about 2 inches if you compare them to the 1.25-1.5 inch attachment hole. The price is the best part. I got the part for $3.83, and after shipping it came to about $7.75. Not a bad amount at all for a much worthwhile investment to save time and prevent damage to customers' cars. Vacuum Cleaner Dust Brush - Black Part FA-5304-3ES low prices at TotalVac.com
Definitely sounds like a good idea. I wonder if there are any brush attachments with longer horse hair. I'm kind of curious if this can reach most defrost vents on the dashboard of vehicles.
Definitely want to hear how you like this, I was thinking the same thing about the horse hair brushes the other day when I was cleaning up my interior!
Update: The brush that I ordered seems a bit stiff, but definitely a major improvement over the brush they sent with the Metro Vac. I'm going to try a couple things to attempt to soften the bristles. I'll keep you posted.
It works well around buttons and all that stuff but I wouldn't use it on really soft plastics like the gauge cluster or things like that. But I mean microfibers can scratch that if you press hard enough. It definitely either a. cut time or b. made it a lot easier when vacuuming the center console and all that stuff. I'd say it's worth the $7 shipped pricetag.
