So, before the MC Hammer jokes start, let me explain. A friend of mine just picked up this car, 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SSEI, when he was on a business trip in Spokane, WA. He drove it back and it was a mess! He called me up and asked me if I could help. Well, always up for a challenge, I told him to give me $50 to cover product and pads and I would see what I could do! I wish I had seen the car first before I told him that. This car was hammered! The woman who owned it claims she never washed it, and I believe her. She lived down a dirt road and you could tell! So, as he got out of the car, my first thought was to call the car The Hammer, and so it shall remain. I did not do an interior detail, this car about killed me..lol. The car, as you can see is in pretty bad shape. The car came to me right as I was finishing up 7 hours on my car applying the Gloss It system, so I knew this was going to be a 2 day ordeal. This was from constantly driving down a dirt road, it could not be fixed. Ugly. Water etching anyone? Bugs anyone? The carnage continues on the passenger side! These tires have NEVER seen dressing! First I popped the hood and sprayed down the engine, agitated and rinsed Then the wheels were hit And on to the other side.. Once she was washed, I pulled her into the warehouse and sealed the wheels and dressed the tires and wheel wells Next up the car was clayed. This car destroyed 2 bars of Mothers clay. Thank God I did not use my Riccardo, Sonus or BH clay..lol. After just washing and claying, the car is starting to shape up. At this point, I was done for the day. the car was washed, clayed and the wheels, tires and arches were done. However, I had to do a 50/50 of the trunk and Menz 203 on a white CCS pad. This combo was butter! Now, it was time to go home. Some girl who keeps coming over my house was making home made Jambalaya. I did not know what to expect. A Vietnamese girl making a Cajun dish. I live dangerously. Day 2! July 4th, 2009. Aren't you supposed to go to a BBQ and blow stuff up? The correction started. I got to work with the FLEX rotary. One pass of 203 was doing work! I used the Nica Method, it did me well! Here are the shots after 203. Nope, even 203 would not put a major dent in this, it did clean it up some, though. Next I did a 50/50 IPA wipe down (there was a lot of dust) and got out the Race Glaze brushes and MS SGS to clean up the badging. Next, I wiped down the engine bay and hit the engine with some PBW Natural Look Then it was time to go to CG EZ Creme Glaze via the FLEX DA and a blue Uber pad. The results were becoming apparent now. Here's that trunk lid again! Yep, the hazed spot is still there. The hood after EZ Creme Next up was CG Blitz. This was my first time using Blitz. it really is a great product. THe car after Blitz: Next, I took about a half hour break. They don't say how long to let Blitz cure for (or even if you have to) so I figured a half hour was sufficient. I then applied a layer of Souveran paste wax via the FLEX DA and a black Uber pad. When I was done, I pulled the car out into the blistering sun to get some sun shots. Ooh, that trunk lid! Hood close up And my favorite shot..a reflection shot. The car is not 100%, it will never be 100%. I did a job for a buddy and wanted to make it look good. I hope you guys like it. As always, comments are always welcome!
Great job on that thing. Like you said some folks just have cars that will never be 100% corrected nor do they ever need to be. When you get cars like that and you can make them look like you did on this one you did great.

That's some excellent work, especially considering you knew from the start it would have never been perfect without some form of respray.
The owner just picked it up. He was more than happy, he booked 3 more cars. This time at almost full price..lol. So, I have a pearl white G35, blue SS Silverado (I just saw a detail on one of these..lol) and a black 1964 GTO convertible. The Judge got scrapped due to time constraints, but it will be done at a later date. Since it never gets driven, he wants the DD cars out of the way first.
