I have the foam gun that DD sells. I like it, but wanted to know how to get thicker foam, and for it to stick better. I fill the bottle all the way with soap and set the dial on E.
More concerned with it sticking a bit better.

Soaps I've used in it are Blue Coral, Gold Class, PB SS&S, Meg's Deep Crystal.

I've got some 1Z Glanz shampoo on the way.

    Thanks, Roger.

You might have to go to a Foam cannon.... do you have any pictures?

I can't afford a foam cannon or a pressure washer at this time.

where do you guys get the foam cannon from anyways?

I have the version with the brass ratio selector but I think they put out the same amounts of foam. I usually use the Poorboy's soap with very good results. I have never run straight soap in the gun and wonder if that is part of your problem; the soap is too thick to be picked up. My guess is I run ~1 or 2 ounces of soap mixed with water in the container. Where I set the ratio at depends on what I'm trying to do, but at full strength it puts out quite a bit of foam.

You might want to try the DP Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo, some seem to like the way it foams in a gun, but personally I haven't seen a need to switch from what I'm currently using.

I'll have to try the soap/water mixture.

do you shake it up before hand? and I assume you use just regular tap water?

Yes, first I put in the tap water, then the soap, and then I shake it up after I put the top on.

Something else I once read is that low water pressure has a negative affect on the amount of foam produced. Very hard water might have the same effect. From the videos I've seen of the foam cannons they seem to produce a thicker, lighter, more clinging foam that a normal foam gun, but set at full strength I get more than enough foam form my gun.
