i got this briggs and stratton 1800 psi/1.6gpm pressure washer for christmas. as one might guess, im already figuring out how to get a foam cannon hooked up on it. not as easy on this one im thinking.

    here is the unit:

the problem is in the wand. there are two halves. the second half of the wand is separate and has a male "twist lock" type attachment. the actual wand would be considered to have the female end i guess. this creates an obvious problem for connecting a foam cannon:

i'm thinking that i might have to buy a universal handle and then some kind of QD setup for the end of that for the actual foam cannon. im clueless on this stuff, and im sure its been gone over before, but as i havent seen much on my particular pressure washer, i just want to make sure im not missing something. if i do in fact have to assemble a secondary handle setup with QD for a foam cannon, could someone please hook me up with info on all the necessary parts i will need, and preferably links to said pieces. i'll e your best friend forever :applause2:.

you need the adapter to fit the foam cannon on, but I am not sure if they make one for B&S.
That's why I bought a Karcher pressure washer. I remember reading a thread here about a home depot foam cannon, and people talked about adapters, that thread might help you.

    found the thread.

or maybe get another quick-release type trigger gun with the right adapter.

    You need one of these

[IMG] you should be able to get it from AG or polished bliss as they stock the fittings. Yours looks like the Lavor fitting.

Agreed. Keep it simple, call up AG and they will get you a foam cannon with the right adapter.

thanks for the heads up guys, and everyone else for their input. i guess i will try and go that route. i was originally looking on PWMall last night trying to piece together a whole new trigger gun and the right adapters for a QD setup.

i will try and see what AG can do for me.

well, to be honest, AG support wasnt much help. we agreed that the lavor fitting seemed to be the closest fit, but im not willing to buy their foam cannon unit HOPING the fitting will fit securely to my PW.

looks like im going to have to assemble a dedicated trigger for a foam gun on PWmall or something.

for those of you that have done this through PWMall before, could you throw me a bone and let me know what parts and fitting are needed. i tried figuring out everything last night, but i just want to be sure i have it right.

Billy- You can go to Home Depot and pick up one of their orange replacement guns for the Ridgid line. They’re only $30.00, have the quick release connection just like your B&S, plus they’ll have the adapter right below it for the AG cannon (to screw into). I took it one step further and purchased an additional quick release so I can easily swap between the cannon and pattern tips.

I can take pics when I get home if needed. Let me know how I can help.

thanks for the info. a picture of your setup would be appreciated if its not too much trouble.

i guess i will try and go this route or try and get something together from PWMall. id really like to try and get something pieced together from PWMALL because everything on there is substantially cheaper. a QD trigger gun and foam cannon from them with fittings is only around 80 bucks i think, give or take.

Another option is go to Home Depot and they have a want (that has 6 or so fittings/adapters to them) and one should work they have moer than AG does and some of the more proprietary ones...the want will twist using the adapter into the current one and then the other end is a threaded fittin you can use the foam gun right onto.

Power Care Pressure Washer Wand with Adaptors Set - AP31021 at The Home Depot

Has a fitting for the A/R blue which is similar to a Bosch but not the same, so it does have some of the more rare adapter fittings, may be worth it to take your wand there and do some test fitting.

that might be just what the doctor ordered ankeet! that set definitely has the twist lock attachment i need. that way, i can pick up that lance kit you posted, and then just grab a foamer on the cheap from PWMall and the appropriate QD fitting to connect the two.

i shot PWmalls customer support an email listing the foamer and QD lance and asked them precisely what fitting is needed to connect the two so we'll see.

I have the power care wand from home depot that was posted above, I use it for my "power washer" pressure washer but I always have a slight fitting problem with it if I don't lubricate it.

yeah i might grab one of those too just to see how they are, but i will still get a regular cannon with the 32 oz reservoir. more foam=more fun.

I don't blame you billy, don't go out on a limb, $120 is too much to spend unless they are 100% positive. You may want to try posting these pics and model info on AG forum and see what responses you get. All the admins/AG customer staff will be able to look at it, and other users who may have your same unit may chime in.

i might try that if i have to, but im not a member of their forum so i might not even bother to be honest. im thinking my best bet is to get that QD lance setup that ankeet posted, then just grab a foam cannon and the appropriate QD connection from PWmall to mate the two up and ill be good to go.
