I am looking to upgrade to a new light, mostly to imspect paint finishes. I looked at Stanley HID, and think that it is so powerful, that it becomes useless... I've looked @ Fenix TK40 that Phil sells, as well as TK45 as well as Led Lenser X21 and am having a hard time deciding...X21 worth the price? Do I really NEED one of those torches??? Here is a video of it - YouTube - LED LENSER X21 P7 TEST What do you guys use? I already have 500 watt halogens in a garage, but wanted something else, like a powerfull flashlight pretty much... What do you guys use, and how do you like it??? TIA.
LED Lenser P7 is what I use. Works great even outdoors in daylight. Check my thread in the showroom for some pics of it in use if you like :thumb:
I thoroughly enjoy using my TK11 but unfortunately, somehow, one of my batteries died. Not sure how but looks like I'll have to purchase some more because now I'm stuck with only one battery.
I agree with Pat... I know there are bigger Fenix lights but I do not need anything more than my TK11 to spot swirls/holograms - and $ is not the issue. I think Auto Concierge introduced these to the detailing scene:thumb:
TK11R2 is what I use after my Brinkmann fell to its death after a 3ft drop. It works perfectly in light and dark places. Also, its the only light I have that shows swirls in my Bamboo Pearl RX330
cheapest TK45 I could find is $135...very tempting... - http://www.solarforcestore.com/servlet/the-1642/fenix-tk45/Detail
I cannot take credit for this entirely, I was @ Sharkwerks in mid 2004 when I saw James(Uber Porsche Tech) using one to look at the suspension while he was under the car. I asked him if I could use the light for a second and when I shone the light on the paint.........the rest is history, but James is the one who should be mentioned concerning this(altough he will not care lol).
