OK, a couple of quick questions about the brake disks on a BMW E92 M3..?

The area labeled (1) is like a polished aluminium ( I think )... So is it bare metal, or lacquered over.... I would like to keep these looking like new, and well sealed etc....??

The area labeled (2) is rusty... Any way of removing this....??

You need to pull your wheels and seal section #!. AS for the 2nd area...get some Naval Jelly and a Duplicolor Kit and paint it.

Painting the outer ring is the only way to keep it from rusting...

its pita to do but should be easy. use masking tape to mask off brake area and cut tape where not needed on outer edge. i did this before i put my rotors on.
