I currently have a 2007 bright silver 300C as one of my vehicles. I actually enjoy it and wish to keep it looking good. I've been painting car parts and bikes for many years, and short of a re-spray and color-sand ,I want to just simply enhance what I have. I've clayed the car using both mothers and mequairs clay bars and finishing up with Adam's Buttery Wax with ok results. After reading around on this site,I decided to seek Swissvax for their opinion. They recommend Mirage ,after using HD CLeanse and clay. As alternatives, they recommend Glacier-Concorso or Shield. I own and use both a rotary and a DA when I do buff out's on new paint, but use 3M line of products. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. And is their choice a good finish coat to help achieve a deeper shine without leveling the paint? Thanks
I used SV Glacier on my white Impreza and i really liked the finish, keeping in mind is not easy getting a shine from a white car. I cannot judge about the finish since my car only goes out roughly once a month and never in the rain. Am sure someone else will contribute as well.
well first of all, what are you really trying to achieve? do you want your paint finish to be flawless and defect free by means of buffing out the imperfections, or are you simply looking for a good LSP for your car? if you're not planning on correcting your cars finish, there's only so much even the best and priciest of waxes and sealants can do for the look of the car. the way i see it, the best way to enhance the look, depth, gloss, clarity, and wetness of your cars finish is by properly correcting the paint first to remove scratches, swirls, and holograms. after that, i see waxes and sealants more as a protective step rather than something that really enhances the paints look. for example, you could have a beat up black car and apply swissvax crystal rock to it, and while yes, it probably would look shinier, once light hits it, its still going to look like crap. but on the other hand, you could properly correct the paint on a black car and throw some cheap-o over the counter turtle wax on it, and it would look amazing. its all in the prep work. thats how i see it.
