    Hey guys,

I need to add a 7" polisher to my arsenal and I came across this HaussMann 7" polisher at Rona (Canada) for $89.99 CAD + 13% tax.
    HaussMann 7” Makita 9227C 7” DeWALT DW849 7”
    Price $89CAD $225USD $225 USD
    Amps 10 (120 V) 10 (110 V) 8
    Speed 1000-3000 RPM 600-3000 RPM 1000-3000 RPM
    Weight 11 lbs 6.8 lbs 8.25 lbs
Hook & loop pad Yes Yes Yes
    Spindle Lock Yes Yes Yes
    Warranty 3 yrs 1 yr. 3 yrs

I know that the HaussMann is the heaviest from the group but here’s what it says on Autogeek.net’s website “At 8.25 lbs., the 849 is a little heavier than the Makita making the motion more deliberate and controlled. Many professionals prefer this because the weight of the machine requires them to apply less pressure, if any at all.”

So based on the above info or your research/experience, do you guys think that the HaussMann is a good buy? It’s readily available (8 minutes from my house).

PS I have never used a rotary so I don't know if the extra lbs is really gonna make a big difference.

    Thanks,
    Vlad

Sorry to drag up an old thread but any update on this polisher? Good for a newbie or better off with something else? Any reviews you want to share?

I got a Makita in the end. HaussMann seems to be really heavy.
