Between dodo juice hard and soft waxes, which do you guys prefer? and which is more like the consistency of lusso oro?

im having a hard time deciding which wax to get between blue velvet and purple haze. durability isnt an issue.

    thanks

usually hard waxes last a tad bit longer. also hard waxes are typically easier to put really thin coats on. soft waxes are a bit easier to use, and just a certain "fun" factor I guess. My Zymol waxes are soft.

I definitely prefer the soft waxes. Main reason is the ease of use. I have tried most of the DoDo line and prefer the soft ones by far over the hard. Overall I prefer RBOE, but its generally a PITA to use. I used Colli 845 recently and almost felt guilty about how easy it was to use.

I have blue velvet and it's a hard wax, I use it with a QD to ease the application...As far as soft waxes, they are easier to work with (like Victorias Mayhem), but you tend to use a bit more...Blue Velvet does smell sooooooooooo gooooooood though...

so would you guys say that the dodo juice hard waxes are harder than or about the same hardness of other carnauba waxes (lusso, petes53...)?

Just out of curiosity...In what way is RBOE a pain. I'd like to try this wax one day but if it's gonna leave me making up new swear words and overusing the old ones I think I'll pass...

best combo for the dodo hard and soft would be a layer of hard for durability, then a layer of soft for the added gloss depth

but if you're gonna bother with layering two pastes, id start with something with proven long term durability like fk1000 or 476s

either way, i prefer soft waxes. Ive used my FK1000 and 476s (and RBOE) only once because i find it too difficult to tell if im pre-loading the pad enough, then i end up over applying

I think the DoDo hard waxes are some of the hardest ones I have encountered.

RBOE is just more finicky than typical waxes. You often will need to heat up your applicator and the wax itself can be a little crumbly. Once its on the car, its relatively easy to remove after 20 minutes or so. It just takes a little more patience and the results are certainly worth it.

i guess ill be going with a soft wax then. Any preferences among you guys between rainforest rub and purple haze?

I dont really car about the whole "color charged" thing since i probably wont notice the differences. so color aside, which of these two waxes do you like more? does one bead or is one more durable than the other?

If you insist on getting a color-charged soft wax I would recommend Purple Haze Pro. It has some of the same sealants that are in Red Mist and it's supposed to be a more durable wax. Of course it's gonna stain the living daylights out of your applicators.
If you go with one of their white waxes how about Light Fantastic? I've read good things about it and it won't stain your pads. Or maybe Rubbish Boys Juiced Edition though it's yellow & not white

thanks. I forgot about juiced edition...im looking at rainforest rub and RBJE right now. Both look really nice, but i havent heard much about either of these two waxes. I know that juiced edition costs a bit more, but for all i know the cheaper rainforest rub could be more widely favored among members that have used it. Would anyone care to chime in that has experience with either or both of these waxes?

    thanks

just grab a few sample pots and play around with them

thats what i did - sample of SN, OC and PH

i will say neither have impressed me that much, any wax looks good after Lime Prime since it is a great cleaner that adds gloss and depth

I haven't used Lime Prime but I wholeheartedly agree with the sample pote. AutoGeek has sample pots of just about every Dodo Juice wax. You can buy them individually and they also have 4 packs - 4 hard & 4 soft.
I think the four packs were $45.
