After seeing the work we performed on the last S5, the owner of this S5 was convicted to get his in! Although we were not tasked with complete paint correction, the finished product shows huge gains in clarity and depth. If you are new to the world of paint correction, please understand that some defects remain and therefore will be visible in the photos below. This Audi received a dual-stage polish, greatly reducing the amount of marring, holograms, scratches, water spots, and other paint defects. We should also note that the car had seen recent repainting on roughly 45% of the vehicle, hood, passenger side, trunk and front bumper. This history made for a much more challenging paint correction process. However, in the end the car came out with a deep reflection and lots of gloss to the finish. Here is the S5 as it was delivered Moving on to the incredible grungy wheels. The owner will be installing 20” RS4 rims in the very near future and has already slated us for Opti-Coat protection. Applying APC Much better! As the owner didn’t want us to spend much time on the wheels on account of the new ones arriving shortly, we stopped here, leaving some deeper grime in the tight spots and corners. Sunlight showing some of the spiderwebbing lurking in the dark Audi paint More clearly noted on the trunk Onto the exhaust tips, looking rather shoddy. After removal of the carbon deposits from the big V8 A few more shots of the defects, for fun. Onto the paint correction. Remember, this is not a full correction, nor was that the goal. Passenger side of hood before After Outside edge of passenger side hood, before. Notice the deep cluster of defects along the panel bend After This shot really shows the level of defects present over most of the car. 50//50 with only the deeper stuff remaining Panel gap 50//50 50//50 on door sill 50//50 on trunk deck Quarter panel before After. Funny how the reflection can drastically change during paint correction Passenger rear quarter before After Before After Let’s roll it outside and inspect our work before applying the protection coat. (The V8 badges had also been removed by this point) And now the finished shots. Enjoy!! :thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb::thumb:
Looks good man. Those S5's are looking better and better everytime i see photo's of them. Nice job on the correction.
Thanks everybody! I agree. Especially if they are dropped a bit (this one wasn't), they look so low and mean. Thanks it is a nice driveway Doubt it. I have instructed the owner on better wash technique to save this soft clear as much as possible shy of full correction and OC
I don't care what kind of car it is, if its a daily driver this level of work is perfect and in some cases above and beyond what the average person would expect. Outstanding work...........
When the camera has trouble having a sharp focus on a black car...you know you did something right. Great work!
Kilo and Chase- thank you for the insightful compliments, it means a lot coming from guys in the industry that I respect. :thumb:
