Lake Country apparently made a line of pads that is geared more towards water based polishes. I wonder what the difference is...

Easier to clean? If they have water on it, the hydrophobic compounds won't stick to the pad.. Right?

Wouldn't the compounds be hydrophyllic if they were mixed in a water based solvent? I thought it maybe had to do with the amount of lubrication the pads offered since oils are naturally slicker than water.

Maybe they dont absorb water as much as the normal ones thus more of the lubrication stays between the pad and paint, or it could be a foam that has less chance of marring, softer, but still has some cutting power?

You're right! I totally forgot, I thought they were hydrophobic like waxes. It might be for lubrication, you won't need to spray the pad with water or detail spray.

Maybe some are maybe some aren't. I know my 1z Pasta Intensiv is homogenous and I believe that my Power Gloss is too but I haven't used it yet, but SSR3 seems to have some visible abrasives. I'm not really too sure but that's just how I see it, I could be wrong.
