So, this is not so much of a question but just wondering how many people have had this issue. So I was washing my car last week and found that there was stringy like gum on the fender, around the center of the rim, and on the panel right behind the front tire. Have any of you guys had this happen, it really pisses me off when people spit gum out and ends up on the road because then I get gum on the side of my car in a silly string like manner.

Well this crap is hard as heck to get off, MS SGS did nothing as I wax hoping it would loosen it up and I did not want to scrape it off as I was just doing a wash. So I start thinking and remember my parents have one of those hand held steamer, so I put some water in it and get it all heated up, steam the crap out of it and just comes off. So now I am like why waste the water I put in there and started feeling like Carlos I was going steam crazy, cleaned the door jambs, the dash and then sooner than I know it i was out of water, :( .

Well I know the hand held steamers dont have the power of a pro floor unit but it does help out when getting some stuff out and well more so for it it was fun to use :p:.

Yeah, too bad they don't have cars with machine guns mounted on them anymore. It would be really nice if you can put them on the "Anti-Negligence" setting and the "Anti-Touching" setting and definitely the "Anti-Parking too close" setting. That would help a lot.

HOWEVER! Gum is a synthetic rubber material consisting of polymer chains. It is degradable, you just have to know how... And luckily I know how! Because its a polymer chain, it is fat soluble and therefore stuff like peanut butter and chocolate and other stuff can cause it to dissolve and separate or if you don't want to put chocolate on your car, use a tar remover.

Thanks! This has happened a few times and for the life of me do not know how getting gum on your tire can create this stringy gum on the fenders or if it is some other way it gets flung around.

Unfortunately I see this all the time. Loads of filthy ppl out there. Just this morning, went to Walgreens, parked my car and right before I slid out of the seat I look down and theres a pile of Taco-Bell trash laying there. The sad part is a Trash can was only 10ft away :shakehead:

I have a solvent I use, 1 swipe usually removes it. Maybe Tardis would work also.:headbang:

Its the heat of the tire spinning that turns it to sillystring :giggle:
