Have used my Makita 9227c for a few years as my go-to machine for all paint correction on everything from those huge ford/chevy vans to airplanes, and it never has had an issue running, or overheating, etc... It is big, and a little heavy for some, but you get what you pay for. My best friend who is an awesome boat detailer, regularly burns through the motors of even the best buffers, and he wont use anything but Makita or Dewalt; he says the rest will die an early death . I showed him my Flex 3403 buffer last year, and he just yawned.. Dont know much about Hitachi, have heard alot of good things, but dont know anyone personally, who is using one in production detailing, so I hope someone chimes in soon ! I just received my new Flex PE-14-2-150, which is considerably more expensive, than the Makita 9227c, so will have to see how it works on my next vehicle in queue.. Dan F
There is a Amazon.com: Makita 9227CX3 7-Inch Hook and Loop Electronic Polisher-Sander with Polishing Kit: Home Improvement with bit more stuff for less price is this a different product is this the deal you guys were referring too
What pads do I need because I also ordered M105, M205, also I need one more polish but I don't remember
Amazon.com: Dual Action Deluxe CCS Foam Pad Kit: Automotive will this go well with the makita or should I get something else
you'll prob want to buy a smaller backplate and then buy foam pads. Wool pads are god like cut and you would still want to step down to foam to finishing. 3000rpm is plentiful as well. Too fast, you're gonna burn your clear coat in a matter of seconds. Just take it slowly, and check temperature once in a while.
