Figured I would make the first post here. Got my new backing plate today! It is the "final" design that has the foam in between the velcro and plastic backing plate. It's 5.5" in diameter and of course the 5.5" pads I have barely fit with no overhang for any protection. I wish I could have gotten one of the interim 5" bp's but I really like this one. Guess I'll have to order more 6" Sonus pads from eShine :headbang:. Anybody else received their new 5.5" bp? I will be using it for the first time Thursday and will report back how it does.

Anybody want to get rid of their interim 5" plate they may have gotten? If you do just PM me! I think I'm going to call Powerhouse and see what the chances are of getting one of those 5" bps so I'll have 3 different ones. The new plate looks like a really great design so I may just unload all the almost new 5.5" pads I have and get more 6" and 6.5" ones!

I use the Nikon d50 SLR with the Nikon 18-55mm lens for those pics. If I switch lenses I go to either my Sigma 28-80mm or 70-300mm lenses. Great camera if you are looking to get a SLR for the first time!

Oh wait did you have to pay for this backing plate or is the one that is being replaced at no charge?

This was replaced at no charge to me.

It came from Powerhouse Distributing the same place I purchased the Flex.

I wonder what backing plate is on the ones that Phil at DD just got? I'll go to his post and ask.

Wolf just got my replacement yesterday too! I now have the 6" and 5.5" and another that is between 5 and 5.5". I think I am getting another new backing plate from CMA too. I asked PH if they had anymore of the 5" and they told me no and this was about 2 week ago. Let me know if you can get the 5".

If you are talking about the part # the one in Flex North America is - 342.637. I'm pretty sure that's right.

wolfpacker im just about to order the flex. with the new backing plate do you suggest using 5.5in pads even though you said theres no overhang. if you can post a pic with a 5.5in pad with the new backing plate i'd be golden. thanks in advance.
