Firstly, I want to apologize for being a bit absent recently. I was searching around for a new car to have alongside my Saab for a while but this past week, I finally was able to close on my car of choice: a 2010 Nissan 370Z Touring. I actually came across the Z by chance when I took a trip to the local Mitsubishi dealer to check out their stock of STis and EVOs, they had a lone '09 370Z which had 2,000 miles on it but had some sketchy paint match issues on the rear panels so I decided to pass but the test drive I took made me seriously look into them.

So, the more I researched, the better the 370Z came across: reliable as can be, excellent drivetrain and handling, and reasonably priced for the caliber car you get. After searching all the Nissan dealers within 50 miles and found a Touring that my dad and I thought we would test the price waters wheeling and dealing. Well, they would not come down past $33,600 so we said forget it and walked out. Later that day, the guy we were negotiating with called and said they would match our offer ($2,500 below invoice) so the car was bought the next day! I drove the car off the lot with 4 miles on the odometer and could not be happier!

Without further adieu, here are some pictures of the car. I will not lie that at face value, the car is virtually marring and swirl free however there is some disgusting greasy slime on the interior plastics which took OPC to get rid off.

Anyways, I can already tell that my driving skills are no way able to utilize the full potential of this car but the way this car feels is unbelievable.

Great choice, perfect color, enjoy it!

How is the synchro rev match? It really rev matches for you on the downshifts?

... as long as hes rowing gears thats all that matters, I wasnt sure if that was a standard feature.

Overtime got it Dave, I didn't get the sport package which includes larger Akebono brakes, an LSD, and synchro rev match. Even though I am an enthusiast first, I decided to get the touring package because of the leather, Bose audio, heated seats, and a whole bunch of other bits since I would rather upgrade the performance parts with my own parts. I am not a big interior modifier so I thought it would be best to have the interior the way I wanted it to be to begin with.

I am also a first time stick shift driver so I want to learn the proper way to work a manual transmission without the temptation of cheating with driver aids like synchro rev match lol.

Got it. The SRM can be turned off but even still heel toeing is more fun :headbang:

    congrats mate

the Z is a great car, its pretty cool seeing the bulging rear guards out the side mirror

and i really like the colour choice - is that the anniversary colour?

i rekon some high flow cats, or even just a mid-pipe is a must as its quite hard to drive a manual one given how quiet they are from inside - alot more refined than the 350 in terms of NVH for sure

no loss on the SRM, its a good feature to show friends but i found that split second of dead accelerator peddle bw shifts really annoying as it can make getting back on the power feel jerky

now onto the more important issues......what's going to be your first LSP of choice?

btw do you just love the hood prop.... hahaha i have one too, probably the same part no.

damn that car looks great. What a color and the lines are just perfect. I'm digging the headlights and the wide fenders already in the rear. Just need some deep dished rims to set it off even further.

heel n toe mostly benefits hondas I believe but still helps with driving any car. I was looking at the z n 135i, I'm kinda on the 135i. I still dunno how to dance the pedals yet, lol. but I have a friend who own a s2000 n does a very well.

you'll enjoy the Z very much, I'm so jealous. I seem people put LEDs in the headlight to create a Audi effect. I also heard the sport package brake pads fails easily, so yes get aftermarket ones.

    Enjoy

the akebono brakes (optional for you guys in the US) are much better than the brembos on the 350. The oem pads would definitely be designed for street use, so swapping out the pads if you track it is easy enough - they'll just chew through the discs quicker then

i couldnt heel and toe in the 135i, the peddles arent setup for it

besides BMW have realised that twin turbo engine was too problematic and have already replaced it with a single turbo version - number of engine failures at dealers here alone was rediculous

Nice addition to the family! I detailed one of these not too long ago and was happy to see the interior quality vastly improved over the last model.
