Hi there, Im kind of a newb to polishing. Ive used a pc and polishes such as Menz final Polish II, and Intensive polish a few times. The final polish 2 seemed a bit strange to work with and almost dried immediately. Ive read the threads about menz polishes and they are still confusing. The abrasiveness chart helped though. I found this kit to be the most promising so far Menzerna G110 Ceramic 5.5 Inch Polishing Pad Kit FREE BONUS , the 5.5in pads should make correction easier, and the g110 has more power than a pc. Should i look at additional polishes or should sip and 106fa be enough to tackle most problems with the pads included. Should i get more pads or should that be enough? I was thinking getting optimum polish in addition because it has a long working time and is pretty easy to use. Am i missing anything in this kit? IT has pads, pad cleaner and conditioner (bonuses), sip, 106fa, and polisher. Thanks
Well nothing wrong with that kit but there are a few factors to consider when considering ordering more polish/products. Will you be detailing only your vehicles? What kind of vehicles will you be detailing, meaning will they have hard clear coat or soft clear coat? I've used the Optimum polishes and yes they do have a long working time but you'll find that when used with a DA it will take a longer time to break down compared to a rotary. That and this is just my experience but the Optimum polish just didn't have the cut I was looking for...but that's just me. Hope this helps.
The SIP and 106 should take care of nearly anything when using the proper pads. If you have orange and green / white for polishing and black / blue for finishing you should be good. Menz PO85RD will add a little more pop to the finish if you are so inclined. When polishing, use SIP with the green or white first as this combo will seldom leave holograms and will clean up quite a bit. It will leave the finish LSP ready if you're pressed for time. If you have to use the orange pad, you will definitely have to follow up with 106FA or 85 RD to get rid of the holograms. Don't forget your IPA ( or Menz Top Inspection) wipedowns to rest assured their is no hologramming and all defects are gone. Good luck and post pics of your work. Nica will cry if you don't post pics!
