I need a brush to agitate the areas around emblems and trim, etc.

What would you recommend and why?

I also need a good brush for the engine bay.

Will take all opinions! Let's see what you think!

Go to Kens website, Autowerkes Exclusive and pick up the 5 Race Glaze brushes for $30 (SV Style)
For a multi purpose brush pick up the Meguiar's Slide Lock

edit: i use my wheel brush for the engine bay too

  8. Go to Michael's and pick up the same SV style brush for less than $4. I bought 3 of them a few months ago and they are still going great. I have one for wheels, emblems, and interior.

The Raceglaze ones I sell are bulletproof. We tested them for three months in everything from APC to straight wheel acid and not a strand of hair has fallen out. You can get the large brushes by themselves as well.

One data point to consider - I've got both the SV and the Zymol brush. On mine, the Zymol brush has bristles that are about 1/2" shorter than those on the SV brush. Not a "problem," just something to think about. I find the SV one, with its longer bristles, is a little more useful for wheels, since it'll get a bit further into lug nut holes.

Quick question, do the raceglaze brushes scratch enblems/paint?

From a personal experience of mine I would have to not recommend the Zymol brush. I received one brand new from another member through a purchase and in less that 2 months the bristles started to fall out. I only used it about 6 times..was a little disappointed but I didn't have to pay a whole lot for it. My SV brush is going great though and have probably used it about 10 times, and I will be buying more of that brush and a set of RG brushes before too long.

Do you really think I'd be selling them to you guys if they scratched paint? :shakehead:

I have the Swissvax wheel brushes. They work excellent. But one of mine (the one that sees wheel duty) is starting to fall apart. I've had it for maybe 6 months. It cracked straight up the plastic (which is common, doesn't affect performance), but now it's continuing around the red plastic at the base. Looks like pretty soon it's just going to fall off. I'll probably just tape it.

I've been very happy with the brush though. I have 2 more dedicated to other uses (paint/emblems, interior) and those are fine so far.

After a week, my last one did exactly the same thing. I put about three wraps of elec tape around it and haven't looked back!!

    Agree to everything here.

I will tape mine, and they should be fine.

Also, forgot about the EZ Detail brush. Mine don't seem to last as long as I would prefer but, really great product. And, saves the knukles when trying to get to those hard to get areas!!
