This saw a trip out to Wales to detail this lovely restored Alvis and had 17 hours of work put into it. This was booked in to soley concentrate on the paintwork and add a some protection. Its a 1939 4.3Litre Short Chassis Vanden Plas Tourer, only 12 of these ever were built with this one being #12. This car has recently been featured in Classic and Sportscar As well as winning the concour for pre-1955 cars at the Antwerp Classic Saloon show last month This was completely restored to a very high standard in 2007 and the engine on this is a bit special so I have been told. Its a short stroke and made completely from steel, has performance cam shaft, 225 BHP and 312lb ft of torque Vehicle was only covered in light dust so I washed it using CG waterless wash -ONE and then was clayed with Sonus green. Correction was carried out using Menzerna 203s. This acheived about 85% correction, with the levels of paint found in some areas I wasnt prepaed to go any further. All chrome/metal polished with Brillant Engine Area was very clean but SV Cleaner Fluid was used on all paint and engine wiped down with Quick Finish SV cleaner fluid was applied by hand followed by 2 coats of SV Divine. Tyres dressed with SV Pneu thanks for looking
Great job! That car is sweet! At first I was like "sooo... is it red or silver?!" But it's poth . :thumb:
wow incredible peace of machinery right here :druling: :druling: I'm curious, what's your opinion on the Brillant products? I've read great things about them, I've even phoned the company and spoke with a representative there but I'm still holding back from ordering it. What do you think of the product? Does it live to it's reputation?
