The owner of this contacted me to add some life back to his paintwork as it was looking very poor for its self. The paint was very swirled and suffered from alot of RDS from taking it off road. Paint readings were taken and showed to be on the low side with average readings of 80-90 microns and dropping as low as 60 in some places. The passenger side doors had been resprayed at some point and showed a healthly amout of paint. Also all plastic trim over arches and front bumper had been poorly painted/colour coded Vehicle on arrival: Wheels/Arches - arches cleaned with HD Surfex and dressed with Megs ASD - tyres scrubbed with Megs Super dregreaser and dressed with SV Pneu - wheels cleaned with Megs Wheel Brightner and protected with SV Autobahn Wash Process - foam with Ag Powermax x2 - Megs shampoo plus and Lambs Wool washmit - clayed with Sonus Green Clay The paint on this was sticky and finally settled on a Megs 83 with a Megs polishing pad. This did a good job of clearing up all the swirls but did leave behind RDS which with the low paint levels were not going to be removed anyways. All correction shots below were yet to be refined with a finishing polish Before: After: Before: After: Plastic trim over wheel arches that had been badly painted Before: After: Not 100% but big improvement Before: After After all correction was done this was refined using Megs 80 on a megs finishing pad. Vehicle was then givena IPA wipedown and Zaino AIO applied and 2 coats of Z2 applied and a final wipedown with Zaino Z8. All plastic trim dressed with Megs ASD and glass cleaned with AG glass polish As alway thanks for looking
Hi J, I can't believe it. You did a fantastic job. Great detail. That clay didn't make out so good though...:thumb:
