Car on arrival after being trailered down to me Car was foamed with AG Powermax and left to dwell for a few minutes to help loosen the build up of grime and dead bugs from heavy track use and then rinsed at high pressure. This was repeated several times. All cracks, crevices, door jambs and hard-to-reach areas were cleaned using a Swissvax brush Once happy with the pre-wash stages vehicle was then washed twice with Megs Hyperwash and a lambs wool washmitt. Vehicle was then rinsed and Tardis was applied to the lower half of the car to remove the bulk of the build up of tar. This was left a for a bit then gently wiped with a soft microfiber. Tardis was also applied to a few other places to remove some stickers found on the car. A fair amount of time was taken claying the paint and glass Once the exterior wash stages were complete the wheels were removed as Duncan requested to have the arches cleaned and protected with Bilt Hamber Dynax S50. Arches were cleaned with Bilt Hamber Surfex, Tardis and variour brushes. Dynax applied and any overspray easily removed with a damp microfiber Wheels were also cleaned at this point using Epsuma Wheel Revolution and Tardis. Not too much time was spent on these as per Duncan's request as they need refurbing and basically just used for the track. The rears came up as new but the fronts still had some stubborn deposits and did not want to use nothing too strong as the finish on them were already starting to rub away. Paint correction was carried out using 3m FCP and their cutting pad Once all compounding was complete vehicle was washed and dried ready for the refinement stages. This was carried out using Megs 205 Exterior glass was polished using Megs G220 and Jeffs Prime. Pic below shows how much dirt was pulled just from the front windscreen Kidney grills removed to cleaned. Pic below shows one after being done with Jeffs Prime and the other still dirty Exhausts cleaned with Autosol and wirewool and then protected with Blackfire Metal sealant Engine bay dressed with 303 aerospace Not much of a Interior but what was there was wiped down with megs APC The plan was to finish the car off with GTechniq C1 Crystal Lacquer but half way through the detail Duncan decided to get the car half wrapped when I finished with the car and advised me that the wrapping company wanted the paint free of any sealant or wax. However, for whatever reason Duncan was unable to get the wrap done when he wanted so a coat of Blackfire Wet Diamond sealant was applied to give the car some protection till it gets it wrap in a week or so time. Few finished pics. Thanks for reading
One of my favorite cars, great work! What do you think of the AG Dynax? Is it a typical fenderwell paint?
