I just sprung for the GTechniq G1 and G2 combo two weeks ago. Coming in at twice the price of Aquapel, it's supposed to last around 20,000 miles on the low end. The application is pretty simple. Clean the glass REALLY well, apply 3 coats of G1 then wipe off with G2. I spilled half my 15mL bottle of G1 and still had enough to finish so in reality the kit could do two front windshields. I do think I let the G1 sit to long because it was somewhat difficult to buff off.

I've haven't been able to really put it to the test in a serious rainstorm but it does bead like crazy and at speeds above 40mph the water just rolls right off. If it's a light rain outside or road mist from other cars the water has to bead up together before it will actually fly off. All in all I have been impressed and I haven't experienced any wiper chatter either which is something I was worried about.

I use Aquapel (front and back windows) and Adams Glass Sealant (side windows). Aquapel lasts longer than Adams ... Adams usually lasts me about 2 months. I bought the Wolf's glass sealant and I hope to test it out soon. I'll keep you posted.

In addition to Rain-X I've used both Gtechniq G1 and Wolf's Glass Guard. It has been a long time since I used Rain-X but as I recall it lasted maybe three weeks. Wolf's lasted between four and five months in Maine winter conditions (applied in October and pretty much gone by March). G1, applied at the same time, is beading/sheeting much more slowly now than when new but it is still working to an extent. All three were applied according to manufacturer's directions, G1 glass prepped with G4 and G2. G1 has the most touchy and time consuming application. G1 is $17.99 for 15ml. Wolf's Glass Guard is $29.95 for 150ml.
Gianni, what kind of longevity are you seeing from Aquapel?

Bruce ... I usually get 3-4 months with Aquapel on the front windshield. If I use with the Rain-X winter washer fluid, I might get 5 months from the Aquapel application. I usually clean my front windshield once a day every day.
