Glanz to SV Blau Weiss...back to Glanz

After trying many different LSP's i have come back to, in my opinion, one of the best LSP's on the market. (And most affordable) I started using Glanz on my Imola Red M3 and over time decided to branch out and use other products from different manufacturers. Mainly Swissvax. I loved the Blau Weiss due to its ability to give my paint a pop that nothing else has. However, the carnuba left on the surface would absorb dirt and dust particles, rain drops (When it showered), and all of this coupled with leaving my car outside while at work would bake the contaminants into the surface. This would require another pass with the DA and some polish to rid my flat surfaces of the defects. I decided to polish the surface (Menzerna Power FInish/Green Pad) and apply a few coats of Glanz. The problem was solved, and the paint after 3 coats pops like no other. Gloss is also deep and wet. The Glanz synthetic wax seems to prevent contaminants form adhering to surface and hence avoids the sun baking them in. (Im no scientist, but my own self testing has proved this to be true) If any one is experiencing same with the use of their carnuba, i highly recommend giving Glanz a try. I love the ease of application and removal, and most importantly the shine.

    Just my 2 cents.:thumb:

This might be old news to you experienced detailers, but for some of the other guys, I thought Id post my findings.

PS - Thanks for the help Phil.

I am a big fan of Glanz also. Glanz, imo, is one of the least talked about but best looking and durable lsp's.

Its not as sexy as Swissvax or other traditional wax products?

    I agree with OP.

I have seen SW blau weiss and CR on a buddies BMW, not impressed and it lasted maybe two weeks where we live, not worth the money when its 110 degrees, humid and dusty. (Sorry fanboi's) SW makes excellent products and I have used a few, but when it comes to wax, $20.00 or $1500.00 in the central valley of California its a total waste of money...........

My buddy had a can Glanz, and i was very impressed; plus I have seen it on Phils car in a post here. It lasts much longer then most "waxes" I currently use it on my wife's car and it takes me no time at all to top it up monthly, its not pricey and is slick as a sealant and beads and sheets water like crazy.

My only complaint is the can it comes in, its not the most efficient set up, I think it would better if it was put in a flip top or something of that nature, i ended up dumping mine into a bottle that i can use more effectively. Anyway, it is an excellent product, its cost effective and provides great results and is very durable.

    Kilo,

Couldnt agree more with the "can". Not only that, its dangerous around the car. Id think they would move to plastic, but not sure....the metal can may work better with the formula of wax.

I liken it to can or bottled beer.

I just used Glanz wax on a car and the application/removal was an absolute breeze. It added a nice gloss factor to the car. I'd have to agree with the complaints about the tin can though. Strangest design for wax I've ever seen.

The tin can says environmentally compatible packaging.

Well, sorry to rain on the Glanz but I think there are far better products available - BFWD, AG HD, 3D's POXY

I used Glanz a couple times and traded it, I never regretted that.

    Far better.....how?
Im sure there is "better" product, however, i was simply posting my thoughts and experiences with Glanz.
Since you have used all of the above, how does each compare to Glanz?

Personally think glanz is better than AG hd in application
The effect, I think they're similarly poppy and durability are bout the same.
    Nonetheless both great sealants :)

My complaint about Glanz is that it can be blotchy and rehaze in spots. I'm in a humid enviroment most of the time. I've had simular issues with zaino too. I have never had these problems with BFWD, POXY, or even AGHD. I remember taking a new, dark blue Honda Accord back to a customer and having to re-wipe the car in her presence due to Glanz blotching up. I was embarrassed and I'm sure she thought I was just doing a rush job on her and didn't get the wax off the first time. Also, even on a good day - it's just not that good. Hey, I'm not trying to start a war or shill other products, I'm just posting on what happened to me. I like 1Z Cockpit Premium very much, their polishes suck though!

humidity will do that to alot of products, I had that issue with some Zaino before. Thankfully it has not happened with me on my Glanz or my AGHD, which i agree is a good product as well. I like the fact I can apply the Glanz with my buffers making thin even coats etc. etc.

Try putting sv over glanz and see if you get the pop you looking for and still have the glanz protection you like...
