I had the opportunity to wash/clay/wax Girodisc's EVO X this weekend. Not too many pics. Filthy Foamed and washed with 2 bucket method and CWG + CWC First Coat of JetSeal109 After second coat RBOE (Carnuba wax for depth, clarity and glow) going on Old School Vs New School Car came out great, with the overcast light it looks black, pretty wicked paint job. This was about a 3 hour job -- nothing to fancy. He had compounding dust on ALL of the trim (from the paintshop, this car went from the lot brand new to a paintbooth to get repainted in this custom blended color) -- I tried to get off what I could. I can probably get the rest next time I work on it. Owner was ECSTATIC at the results.
How old is the paint job?? That color is sick!! I love the wheels too, are they a staggard fit in size, or are both the same diam?? Would you care to PM me your process of applying RBOE...your panels look alot different then when I do it..
Yeah, I'll get going on that in a minute. The paint job was about a year old. Since it's AWD they're the same size. 19x9.5" +17 all the way around. Pretty aggressive. I'm not a huge fan of the stretched tires -- but to each their own.
nice color on the new one. love the wheels too. nice work. whats done to your evo? anything? what about his?
The Silver evo 1 is my brothers. The Green evo was the customers, it's got all sorts of goodies and dyno'd in at 396whp/407tq I believe. Both are very nice cars.
LOVE IT. Nice work, I'm going to have to order some RBOE one of these days I sold my evo 8 almost 2 years ago, and I miss it EVERY day. I was thinking about doing a project/build on an older evo if I could get one imported... any suggestions lifemal?
My brother lives in Canada where any car older than 15 years just has to pass a couple safety/DOT-esque exams and it's good. I have a friend selling a rally-prepped EVO 1 in Seattle for 16k I think. It's oddly registered, but mostly legit. I think it's a "buy a mirage get a free evo 1" kinda thing if you know what I mean, lol.
yeah, I've been thinking about getting a 'Florida' car... there have been a few out here in the Northeast for sale, but nothing too terribly pretty I may just wait until I buy my next house in the coming years so I can finally focus on a car rather than every single aspect of the house and a car:bla2:
Yeah, it can be frustrating. I'm living in a crappy apt with my lady. We have our wedding coming up Aug 29th, and maybe we'll buy a house after that but she really wants to go to school, and I don't make THAT great of money at my day job. We'll see though.
