I have a new Gilmour on its way right now that I am going to be using on a clients car for the first time this saturday.

What products and dilutions are your favorite to use in one of these?

I currently am stocked with Dawn, Megs gold class, CG CWG, CG Citrus Wash, CG Hose-free Eco Wash, CG Glossworkz and ONR. I THINK that is all, lol! Oh, and of course Zep Purple and Citrus.

Also, what is your wash technique before and after foaming?

Do you foam it on a dry surface, or pre-rinse and pre-spray/soak?

And after, do you just let it do its thing or agitate? How long would you let it sit before agitating?

I just fill up the gilmour to the neck of the bottle with water then I squirt in Adams car wash in it. Then I mix it.

I put it on the highest concentration so I get the thickest suds.

Then I foam down the whole car and then I start washing and then foam again after finishing every panel.

Me: Depending on how dirty it is, Ill usually pre rinse, then spray the foam on the car, but I have found it doesnt work as well as pre soaking when its dry. Depends on how hot it is too outside. Play around with it, as for dilutions its soap, its cheap so I just put in and eye ball it, probably no more then 2-3 oz

    Thanks, both of you!

Yeah, I did not mean an actual scientific measurement...just rough eye-ball [2 glugs?]...I do not mind using a hell of a lot of soap if it benefits me.

So, what soaps do you guys prefer to use?

And would you pre-soak with an APC, or ONR?

I always use Adams in my foam gun no matter what soap I am using in my bucket which is normally lusso Oro. I know Phil has even said to mix in some Adams APC with it for a more effective clean. Obviously not good if you don't want to strip wax.

I would Pre soak heavily dirty panels with bugs or dirt with Adams APC. Then rinse off and then foam down. I typically foam dry.

Did you mean dry it works better. Normally that's how it works best for me.

dry works better b/c there is dirt on the surface, and the foam can cling to this debris and grab onto the dry surface.

2.5-3 oz for me, i use either 'C' or 'D' setting...no need to go to the 'E' setting

Are you guys using just a hose with the foam guns or do you have to use a pressure washer?

my gilmour foam gun is made to be used with a normal hose. other types of foam guns/cannons are made to attach to pressure washers.
