    I have a Coleman 1850 in my van. Seems to work fine but its definately not the quietest generator going. It was however, only $450 at Home Depot. I just ordered a Honda EU2000 cycloinverter. Under full load its rated at 56db. Dead quiet, but $1299.

    +1 on the Honda

    check this guys if you are in the US:
    Honda Generators || EU2000iA

    Got both of mine @$880 each shipped. OK, the local dealer ran out after wind-storm of 2006 in Seattle so I had to go to Midwest to get generators at that time:bla2::giggle:

    These generators are allowed at camp site as well if you go camping.
    The reason for quitness is it generates DC current then converted to AC using solid states. The conventional generator has to run at 60*60 (rpm x Hz) or 3600 RPM these inverter type only runs @1800RPM. Less wear on engine as well, those Japanese really know how to bring innovations to reality. Yamah and Robin/Subaru makes similar products but there is only 1 red-wing.

    Would one of these be enough to run a mytee extractor? I am guessing those guys are wattage hogs with a heating unit, a pump, and a vacuum all running at the same time.

    Brent hard to say, is it Mytee HP60? I have a feeling a single unit won't but you need to check with Mytee does it have to go to 20A or 30A outlet (if the later NO for sure)

    The nice thing about Honda EU2000i (or many Honda inverter generators), is you can parallel 2 of them to generate more power. PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS WITH CONVENTIONAL GENERATOR!.

    I run 2 in parallel providing peak of 4000W and continuous at 3600-3700 (during wind storm in Seattle).
    So if you really have to have gen for mobile operation and you don't want to wake up customer's neighbors buy one EU2000i and try it first. EU2000i will cut off at overload and you can reset the circuit, no harm done and get another one.

    This is the little fact of EU2000i, 2x47lb is way less than 120-150lb (EU3000i the bigger brother of EU2000i weigth) and 2xEU2000i provide more power to boot!

    I went on mytee's website and the HP60's heater alone uses up 1200w, that would only leave about 600 watts for the pump and vacuum. Propably not enough using just one of them. I am guess you would have to parallel two of them or just have one handle the heater and the other the pump and vacuum (assuming it had two power cords). Or just buy a more powerful generator.

    When using my large Camanche' extractor it draws fine on 15 amps, but I am not drawing on a heater (which would REALLY pull amps) anyway, can you heat the water up first, then just turn the heater off, then turn on your vac, and pump? I run mine with boiling water being poured in my reservoir and I get really good cleaning power.

    Just a thought that might let you stretch to the 1 Honda unit, and maybe forgo the 2nd unit if you don't need to run the heater at the same time?

    Watch which Mytee you are buying. The newer ones use an inline heater, hot a heating element in the tank so I don't know that you would be able to "turn off the heater". Just a thought.

    In-line heating would be a fail on my idea from above. Good thoughts on that, I know the Camanche I have (huge machine for carpets in houses) is an element kind not an in-line, and instead of purchasing the element I just decided to boil water.

    Good thoughts here people.
