Well the parents are out of town so i took my car out of my storage unit and brought it home last night. I got the house and garage to myself untill saturday morning so i figured this is the best time for me to do a full correction on my vette. I get home from work at 6 and will work on it every night after work. I want to remove as much contaminates as possible and polish my car with my Flex XC3401 VRG D/A. As far as polish im going to be using Megs 105 & 205 with 6.5" LC orange and white pads. As far as wax im not 100% sure yet.
    Day 1: 3hr day
I was able to get the vette washed and i clayed the lower panels.I foamed the car via Glimour Foammaster gun with CG Citrus Wash and Clear(high concentration).

Then washed it with the same soap (2 bucket method w/ grit gaurds) and rinsed the car off.

The water still beaded up just like before...Not sure what else to do to remove the previous LSP (P21s Concours topped with 1 coat of OCW back in June). I then clayed the bottom panels of the car
    Front bumper

Lower back part of the Front Fender

I will update this thread as often as i can. Tomorrow i plan to go over the tar specs with tarminator and then try Iron X.check back
    Day 2: 3.5hr day
Ok today i didnt get off to a good start. I wanted to remove all the tar spots that were on the car. I tried useing Poor Boys Bug squash and it wasnt really doing much. My friend came over and saved the day with a can of tarminator. I highly suggest that to anyone trying to remove tar or bugs. After i removed all the tar i then wanted to try Iron X. Wow does that stuff work well but it smells terrible(similar to the old formula Sonax Wheel Cleaner). I have pictures showing Iron X going to work.
When i first sprayed on Iron X i started to panic because it wasnt changing colors. I then looked closely and it looks like my hood was covered in tar. I was very surprised. So i did as the directions said and wiped it off with a wet sponge then rinsed the hood.

The rest are random spots and you can see all the dripping redish/purple color like the bottle claims

After i used Iron X i foamed the car and rewashed it and pulled it in to dry it. Tomorrow im going to polish the car hopefully with both Megs 105 & 205. I hope i can go over the car with both tomorrow so then all i have to do thursday is apply LSP. My parents come back Friday night and i want to start on my dads 2008 White Grand Prix GXP. Its going to get similar treatment as my moms Impala.

"Not sure what else to do to remove the previous LSP"

Dawn dish soap, or the like. Or even optimum power clean diluted.

this should be a great one. Look forward to seeing more. I second Kilo6_one . . . . dawn dish soap, optimum power clean,CG citrus wash and gloss and even a few IPA wipe downs.

A friend of my dads has one of these with a Borla Exhaust, sounds sweet! He has plans for a supercharger "to spank lambos and ferraris." I think he mentioned it was near the 15k mark with all the work. Was supposed to detail it, but maybe this year ;)

A clean and polished TR C5Z is a beautiful thing.....but I might be biased ;)

    Good looking ride.
