Bentley Correction “Let’s do it right! Two days it is” Upon initial meet and greet and inspection of this clients and his car, I was told “Its not that bad and should just need a bit of work to make it look better.” Well, most cars look good until you get some lights on them and reveal the truth! We went around the car and looked things over and he pointed out a few areas of concern. Some were correctable, some were not. What was definitely sticking out to me was the massive amounts of scratches and swirls marks all over the car in the lights. I knew right from there this car would be a lot of work and require the better part of two days to make it look as it should. We talked about some options and I gave him my recommendation. He thought it would be a quick 3 hour job, but when I explained to him the process and what I would have to do in order to fix all the damage to the car, he thought things over as I went back over the car once more for my own inspection. I found more and more defects that would be troublesome potentially. I get back around the other side where the client was and he says “well, I want it done right, so let’s do it right! Two days it is.” I said “you are making the right choice as its easier to maintain a fixed car than try and maintain a sub-par car” Something I might add, this car was coated with Permaplate…this should tell you that what the dealers are sometimes charging 1000+ for isn’t really worth it in the end! Here is the beginning damage in the SUN and under LED lights: Here is an example of the start, compound, polish process and how things should look after each step: Start: After compounding: After polishing: Here it is again on a different spot Start: After compounding: After polishing: Couple 50/50 shots: And here are the afters. I haven’t waxed the car at this point yet as I knew I wouldn’t have the time. This is after a car pro erasure wipedown to remove the polishing oils from the paint and leave it bare and ready for waxing: After 18 total hours, I was finally done and had to get right on the next car for him that night in order to prep the Mercedes for sale. All in all, it was about 25 hours of detailing done in just two days! Good times!
Thanks guys! LSP was pinnacle souvereign as he likes a carnuba rather than a sealant, and he waxes the car every month tires received meguiars hyper at 2:1 and i really need to start photoing all the cars. I got lazy and was only photoing the cars I knew I would get good afters/finish with daylight on...not anymore!
Thanks guys! It was a pure joy to finally see the outcome in the end! Worth every back breaking moment!
