Ford Thunderbird I had an appointment scheduled for this car as the owner said it desperately needed some TLC. Well, she was not kidding as the car was trashed. The interior was very tidy to be fair, however there were all manners of crevices that took some time to thoroughly vacuum and clean. The paint, however, was hammered and left me feeling a bit disappointed as to the condition I left it in because I was looking for more improvement. I have scheduled a 2 stage polishing appointment for next month to address these issues as I had to explain to the owner that the only real improvement that can be made is through using abrasives to remove the defects. There was also evidence of a respray due to panels having below paint defects, stains, and mismatched color (picture included). The owner was happy in the end, and understood the issues left but there was only so much I could do to satisfy my inner perfectionist. The final afters: I removed most of the water spots however etching remained, swirls were diminished slightly but were beyond this detail. Additionally, the wheels are stained to the point where abrasives were not affecting them at all. Why no sun shots? Well, there was a powerwashing crew cleaning the walls of the garage with a bleach solution and I prefered no to get that stuff on the car. Water spots and most of the etching removed: As always, thanks for reading!
Thanks for the kind words! Now if only that polishing session will come ASAP, it will make for some pretty 50/50 shots. Haha, I would like to think that. Unfortunately, it kicked my butt in terms of the paint work as it was well and truely trashed. I guess I will need 2 days to do a 2 step polish on it and really make a difference. Thanks Sal!
