Has anyone tried one of the LC Foamed Wool pads. I was going to get one to try. Any comments - good or bad.

Love that pad. You can do some serious corrections with it. I've used it with SIP and M105 with great results. Try it, you will love it.

I just picked a couple up I believe from Phil(DD) and haven't had a chance to use them yet... actually still haven't been able to use my Flex yet :(

I picked them up from all the great reviews!

Honestly, Im not sure what all the hype is about. I had a few of them and used them a good amount with different polishes/ compounds. The size is nice at 6", but thats about all I liked. I use Megs so1o wool now and would like to try 3M soon.

If you use 105 with it, make sure you wash it out immediately. Otherwise itll never be the same.

They also seem to wear out pretty quick.

To me they seem to cake up to easily, then again I could be bias since I prefer the full wool pads.

Do you use foam at all or strictly wool?

If a vehicle needs anything more than an orange pad I use wool, I finish with foam or if the vehicle only needs a touch up then foam only.

I have been using a 2 sided wool pad for years. I decided to try the foamed wool and I really like it. It seems to sling less (although that's my rotary, I think b/c it's an old single speed) than the old style wool. Both correct, it just comes down to preference. I haven't used my old wool since I got it and then I bought a 2nd, so there ya go.

I prefer real wool pads more than foamed wool pads. Foamed wool is okay, and seems to finish a bit better, but I don't see anything that is really that amazing. I think I might be biased because I learned rotary with real wool pads, and I find that foamed wool pads just handle differently.

I've never tried foamed wool pads to be honest but I too learned/got trained with pure wool pads and what you can do with wool pads will blow your mind, to me there are no substitutions to wool pad..but keep in mind I've never used a foamed wool pad, I honestly don't have any desire to try them as I'm more then pleased with my Menzerna, 3M and Meg's wool pads :thumb:

I enjoy using the PFWs just as much as normal wool pads but I don't bust out the wool pads unless I really have to.

I use it sometimes and I love them. PFW with 105 is an amazing combo.

I have (and use) the complete line of Edge wool pads, but my fav is still the purple foamed wool.

I really like how long the edge wool pads last, and for serious correction you just can't beat the black twisted wool, but... the PFW's consistently leave a much better finish on a wide variety of clears. Yeah, the PFW's do wear out very fast, but for the amount of correction they do, and the finish they leave, it's a small price to pay.

It's not unusual for PFW's to finish down with zero compounding haze/marks/swirls even when used wth M95, M105 or other good quality compounds (which is more than I can say about my equivalent-cut Edge wool pads).
