Foam gun on my pressure washer...good enough?

    Hey folks,

I have an electric pressure washer, it does a great job (1700 psi - 2 wands). Now, there is a foamer option on one of the wands and to me, it foams (with my DP foam soap + PB SSS combo) really, really well. Compared to what I'm seeing from the Gilmour/Gilmour-esque foam guns, the foam is identical.

Is it worth it for me to try and invest in a foam cannon? I like looking at F-minus's foam shots and knowing the kinds of cars he does, and I love looking at those pictures but I was wondering is there a huge difference in cleaning ability vs. the two types of foam? Should I buy a new pressure washer entirely over such a difference?

Well thicker /dense suds = longer dwell time = increased cleaning

BUT why would you need an NEW PW in order to utilize an foam cannon? Even Karchers can be outfitted with a cannon

I just got a gilmore one (have only used it once so far) and I think it'll be good enough for me. It seems like a real pain in the ass to convert the foam cannon to the pw. I've got an electric (crappy tire) Simonize one..I don't even know if I could make it work with that unit. I've got a quick connect on both the foam gun and p.w. to switch back and forth quickly...I think that'll be fine.

Hey Richy, I have a simoniz s1700 one, I tried outfitting one of the yellow or house foam cannon attachments and the major problem is that the plug and play part is different, it's thinner on the Simonize, so you'll ahve to shave down the edges of that foam cannon.

It's not worth it if you've already made the investment, especially if you're two bucket washing afterwards. I find my DP xtreme foam + pb sss combo dwells long enough for claying but does remove a lot of the winter salt.
