I was wondering whats everyones method with the foam gun do you

    1. foam the body leave the suds on and just go with the 2 bucket method

    2. foam the paint let it dwindle to bring the dirt down rinse and foam again and then go with 2 buckets

    3. foam the paint, rinse then do the 2 bucket method.

Foam, let it dwell, rinse off, then wash...

I usually use option 2, if I'm using the same soap in the foam gun and bucket. Otherwise, depending on how dirty the car is, I'll foam and rinse once or twice, then 2BM.

Sometimes I foam bystanders as well. :)

I use option 1 one time and for some reason I did not like it. It seems like too much so option 3 when I use a foam gun. It is half entertainment value for about 50 cents.

I always use method #2. Works the best I think.

I'd expect more to do option 2 but thinking of its pretty wasteful that's what I always been doing

I put on some Paul Oakenfold, bust out some glow sticks and.............. oh wait, for cleaning a car, I thought you were talking about something else LOL

I foam, let it dwell wash it off, then 2BM.

    Rinse - Foam - Dwell - 2BM Wash - Rinse

I find that by washing a few minutes after foaming gives me better lubricity.

Trigger handle pressure rinse - Foam - Dwell - Rinse - *Foam again for extra lubrication - 2BM Wash - Flooding rinse

    *not every wash

Stupid question - with a foam cannon, do you guys turn the water supply going into the power washer on full blast?

Just because it is a "powered washer" doesn't necessarily mean it needs a full water supply....at least, that's what I would imagine.

Reason i'm asking is because i'm not getting thick foam no matter which soap and dilution ratio I use.

I am betting its your water are you using water from the tap or distilled or filtered water. If your water is hard its not going to foam up well. I use soft water that is filtered from inside my home since we had it installed a water softening unit a few years back and I get shaving creme foam with 2oz of CG Maxisuds II to 1000ML of water. I live in the desert and we have very hard water, when I used water from the tap outside the first time foaming was not that great at all now I always use the soft filtered water we drink from inside and and premix the soap and water by shaking up the bottle to get an even consistency while foaming since Maxisuds II is some thick stuff.
