Well I received my CamSpray in the mail a couple days ago. Had planned to return it for a JL Foam Cannon setup, but I would have to pay a restocking fee to return the CamSpray, so I thought I'd give it a go. Last night I went to Lowe's and purchased a 32oz. plastic bottle and a longer plastic tube. I had been planning all day to try out the new toy right after work, since today was the first day over freezing in a long time. So, I bolt out at 5:00, something I rarely do, head home trying to beat the darkness. First off I mix up 4 oz. of MS Ultra Gloss (just ordered after reading JL's BMW Jet Black detailing) with water in my new 32oz. bottle. Put air in the PW tires, it's an Excel with an Honda engine I purchased from Home Depot all few years ago, gas/oil in her, pull out my brand new Craftsman Black Rubber hose I got for Xmas, and am ready to hook up the CamSpray to the PW. Ugh, neither of the adapters that came with it will connect to my PW hose. So, I think I can find a way, and spend the next 30 minutes with WD40 and vice grips tearing apart the connection in my PW wand. Nope, that doesn't fit the CamSpray. :thud: Now, what do I do? I have been planning on purchasing a Karcher electric model to use with the CamSpray. If I just go ahead and buy one of those will my adapters work with that? Or, should I head to my local hardware for something? If I can't get this thing up and running, I'll resort to the two bucket wash method, as I want to wash the car before having the windows tinted on Saturday. I also just purchased ONR, but am so afraid to use on a Jet Black (soft paint) BMW. Here's a photo of the two connectors that came with the CamSpray and the one I took off my PW wand.
I just got my cam spray and it works beautifully with my karcher. Had to buy two adapters though, total cost shipped for those was $16~. If you can find an adapter for your honda tip to be a bigger one so it fits onto the first adapter, that will work.
what kind of PW do you have? if you give me the make and model i will look to see what you need. also provide a pic of the cam spray. most notably the end that would connect to the fitting.
looks like all you need is a 1/4" MPT to 3/8" quick disconnect. unfortunately i'v never seen one. you can buy a 1/4 MPT to 3/8 FPT and then screw your quick disconnect to that.
dang i must be getting old. all i see is a hole. i know now i'm asking a lot. but can you post a picture where i can see it at an angle? i need to see if the cam spray has a 1/4" FPT connection
yes it does and it comes with a Plug, Quick Connect 1/4" MPT (Steel) and Plug, Twist Coupler 1/4" MPT Which he shows in the pics
I am posting a pic of the CamSpray female threads and a pic of the three connectors. In order to use my Excel PW, I would need a connector with MT the size of the small connector that came with the CamSpray, but with the larger size of the Quick Connect that is on my existing QC in order to plug into my PW hose. Is there such a thing? Sorry, I don't know thread sizes. I read my PW manual, and there isn't any mention of sizes, or a parts list. DeVILBISS Air Power Company of Jackson, TN is the manufacturer. So, I visited their web site and found a parts list for my XR2600, found the quick connect, but no photo or size. :shead: Or, are you guys saying that I need to purchase a Karcher, and does the Karcher come with the proper connects, or would I also need to purchase connectors to be able to use the CamSpray with the PW?
OMG, I am such an id@#%! So frustrated that I couldn't get the CamSpray to connect to my PW that I searched the forum for what other members are using for power washers, when I came across a thread posted by Phil regarding a new CamSpray PW. So I am browsing his photos of it in action, and see that his CamSpray is connected to the PW wand! All this time I have been trying to connect the CamSpray directly to the PW hose and bypass the wand. Sure enough, the CamSpray connects to the wand perfectly. :sorry: for wasting your guys time. Foaming tonight !
It works! Here's a shot of the CamSpray. It had a lot more foam in the beginning. This picture is with the bottle near the end. I have a 32 oz. bottle, and had to refill once. As you can see it was getting quite dark.
Glad you got it working :thumb: Sounds like a question I would have, I've never used a pressure washer let alone a foam gun.
It's Majestic Solutions Ultra Gloss I'll try turing the knob next time. Heck, I was just glad to get the thing working.
