i you had a chance to buy either one of the two rotaries (flex 3403 or metabo 175). which one would you get and why.

i know flex and metabo are very good is there more preference over the other.

I thought about it for months and months but I just Bought the Metabo over the flex. Never ran the flex but by asking the question you did. I found out that the flex is lighter and louder and the Metabo. The Metabo seems a little heavier right out the box and I was a little shocked by this but the weight is more concentrated in a short area than the flex would be in a longer area. You really need to get used to the Metabo or I did anyway. I had a nice talk with Marcus(cnut) he just got one too. He was nice enough to make me relize that the metabo is surely a different animal and said to take my time learning it. That was key because now i'm having a heck of alot of fun with my new machine. Another reason why is because of Carlos. He has talked about his countless times and that held alot of weight with me and The timming couldn't have been any better I bought it on clearance for 200.00+23.95 shipping...:thumb:

Like Buddy said, I had the same dilemna not long ago. I went with the metabo to go along with my makita and i'm very happy with my decision. The flex just seemed too loud for me.

I would only get those as a secondary rotary, with Makita being the primary one.

Flex...But I'd endure pain to save up for a Makita.

What pain? The Makita can be had cheaper than the flex.

I don't think I could stray from my Makita but I kind of like the ergonomics of the Metabo with that head grip it has, would be neat if Makita had an attachment like that.
