how does fk425 compare to chemical guys speed wipe? I have speed wipe and love it, but i am interested in trying out fk425, but dont know what to expect
I like 425 because you cannot mistake it for any other product if you put it in generic bottles, because it smells awesome, because it does have anti static properties.... but it cannot clean for shit! For light wipedowns etc its great however!
A QD COMPLETELY depends on what you are using it for. I have a couple different ones, for instance, get one for cleaning with nothing left behind, and one for a final wipedown that enhances gloss. I use ONR for cleaning and was planning on DoDo Juice Red Mist for gloss.
I'd say the CG Speedwipe is better for a final wipe down after waxing, it doesn't have much in terms of cleaning power and doesn't feel as slick as ONR diluted to QD ratios.
Griot's Speed Shine is awesome. I've used 3 gallons of FK425, but just got a gallon of ss from Griot. I'm a QD junkie.
I agree that its cleaning ability is pretty weak, but as a post wash quick detailer it's hard to beat. Spreads easily across the paint, leaves a nice shine and is anti static to boot.
FK 425 is one of my favorite QDs ever! I use it as a final wipe down after removing wax (love it's antistatic properties) as well as drying QD.
tried it and liked it alot. but i use oid, imo just as slick and more economical. can't speak for anti-static, 425 probably better in that regard. either one you can't go wrong.
for cleaning QD i use Chemical Guys Extreme Synthetic. It will streak if you use too much but its my go to for removing bird bombs. I only use 425 after a wash. I have never tried speed wipe.
