I've used the #118SC over 2 years ago, I remember liking it a lot (but my soap experience up to that point was pretty limited). From what I remember, it was pretty slick, sudsy, the cleaning was very nice, and it left a pretty nice gloss on the paint after drying. If Duragloss wasn't so good and cheap (I got a gallon for under $6 by some fluke at Carquest a week ago :applause2:, normally $20), I would have bought the FK product again.
I used it, and it's ok. requires 2 oz per gallon of water. With this ratio, I'd rather stay with Chemical Guys CW&G or Maxi Suds, or DG #901... Hope this helps...
I should also mention that, even though it says 2 oz. per gallon of water, I specifically remember the suds regeneration of the product was very good. With some shampoos (even Duragloss) I would find myself adding more solution to the bucket because the suds and slickness weren't there after half of the wash, with this stuff the wash properties stayed, for the most part, consistent throughout the entire wash.
That's strange. I use DG at half the recommended dosage and it stays slick and very sudsy through the whole wash.
I don't really measure how much total solution I put in the bucket, I would guess about 1 oz. in 2 gallons of water. In addition, I'm using a Vroom "soap dispenser" (which adds a ton of slickness to the wash) which uses an additional 1 oz. per wash. I think my issue is that I use big MF mitts which take a lot of solution out of the wash bucket with each dunk, so after about 2/3rds of the wash there is hardly any soapy solution in the bucket. It isn't really an issue any more, since I can just refill the bucket from the soap dispenser and not have to add any more concentrate.
Yep, I'm aware of that, but my TDS level is around 200ppm (the national average). And I mix it at half the recommended dosage. You would need very hard water to cause that affect if you were mixing per the label. It appears as though he is just running out of solution.
