So, I'm planning to polish my B6 S4 using HD Adapt, then most likely seal with either Duragloss 105, or Optimum Opti-Seal.

Not sure how wide a range of pad colors I'll need, and how many of each. I'm planning on getting the Uber 5 pack from Detailers Domain.

I'm thinking two Orange, then ???

Here's a shot of the sort of the swirls most common on the vehicle:

As long as the paint isn't too hard you should be able to get by with green pads on that from my little experience. I don't know how much cut adapt has though.

start with a green pad test an area of the car with it and see if it removes the swirls if so great if not then move to the orange pad ;)

Always work your way up from the least aggressive correction to find out what works best.

Hd adapt has a decent amount of cut but IIRC, that paint is on the hard side. That being said, you could probably 1 step that metallic with orange or green, whichever gives you the best combo of cut/finish after some testing.
