I have been cleaning cars for this particular person for probably a good three years now. He picked up this GTR a year or so ago and loves it, as do I. However, you can see the condition it was in when he got it from the previous owner/dealer. I finally got around to getting my Griot's machine and polishes and told him to let me get a few cars under my belt for practice and I would be happy to try and work on his car. I was kind of nervous after reading about all the people saying this black paint was its own kind. So I kind of didn't know what to expect. I am happy with how it came out (as was the owner) especially since all I did was wash, clay, one polish pass, and then finished it off with Power Lock. Total time took a little over 8 hours. Unfortunately it was a cloudy day the entire time so I tried my best to get pictures of before/after so I hope these will do. On to the pictures. Pulled it out to wash. The entire car pretty much looked just like this... Well, it isn't 100% better obviously, but I think it was a HUGE improvement! Afters And it stopped drizzling for a second so I pulled it out of the garage real quick Thank you for looking.
Looks nice. You should be proud of your work, as you seem to be a novice at paint correction. If the customer is happy, you must be doing something right. Looks like he has an assortment of car makes/badges on his garage walls. What else do you work on for him? Also, any information on products you are currently using?
Car looks great man! I've detailed cars worth double or triple that of a GTR, but I still envy you for having detailed one! Such a nice car. Hope your detailing picks up more business now that you're polishing!
Great work! For being one of your first cars that is one of the trickiest paints to work on! I suggest you get that Opti-Coated soon!
Thanks, y'all. This is his only "toy" right now. He's had a 996 Turbo and an SL55 AMG as well, both black. I'm using Menzerna stuff. Love it so far.
