Finally happy to say that I have completed a full car using my Makita. It's about time. This car was brought to me by a guy who is in our college car club and just purchased it used and said the guy he bought it from claimed he took good care of it, but the paint proved otherwise. The car was pretty clean on arrival as the owner had washed it but I washed once more just in case. There were several deep scratches in it that were more than the rotary could manage and probably would have needed wet sanding. This was an amazing color car and after driving it around for a bit I fell in love with this car. I will be considering this HIGHLY when looking for a car in the next few months. Here we go, sorry for the lack of pictures and their quality I finished tonight and lighting wasn't good in the parking garage. I had a problem with holograms and some minor marring with the rotary which I had practiced not doing. That is why I used the Prima Amigo to follow up to remove them. But I would prefer not having to do that extra step, can you guys provide some insight to why this might be happening? I found that the rotary gets the job done much quicker and when I started I found the machine to bounce but after loosening up and taking slower more concise movements I eliminated that problem. More practice was needed but I feel like for my first time this definitely boosted my confidence tremendously. Thanks for looking! c/c always welcome! Chas
Great job. I moved from the PC to a rotary last month. In general, concentrate on holding that pad pretty flat. when you dig in with the edges you tend to leave holograms. I also use Menz 203 a lot. Are you letting th polish break down enough? I was leaving some trails until I realized I wasn't letting it break down enough. When you think the polish is fully broken down, take the RPMs down and work out those holograms.
Great stuff. Can't wait to see the pictures. I have a legacy myself so very interested in seeing what it looks like.
