So I was thinking the other day, is any of our detailing supplies flammable? And if so, shouldn't we have a fire extinguisher handy to put it out if something were to happen? What kind and what size fire extinguisher should we have? I mean, some of us keep our stuff in our house/garage/mobile detailing vehicle. Just figured it might be a good idea, since we try to store our stuff properly. We worry about our hearing, and wearing gloves, ear protection or take whatever precautions necessary to protect ourselves, and this would just seem to be a logical progression of our being/business. Any info/thoughts/ideas on this would be great. Thanks, -Roger.
Yes Roger, having a fire extinguisher a very good idea :campfire: Most all of your non water based products are highly flamable :cig: What you would want to get is a Class B fire extinguisher. These are designed to be used for liquids such as gasoline, kerosine and common organic solvents used in the laborotary :graduation:
I always have a fire extinguisher in the garage, although its main intended purpose is if something happens with one of our cars or something of that nature. I always have a portable sized extinguisher in my trunk as well, never a bad thing to have in my opinion.
Roger, an ABC fire extinguisher is the most well rounded unit to have as its suited for normal combutibles, flammable liguids, and electrical appliances. If you want something just for flammable luquids, then as philbert said, a B extinguisher is what you want.
kinda random, but ive always wanted those mini fire extinguishers that you put under a seat. M3's used to come with these i think. i know bmw makes them and its kinda just something to show to your friends lol
I have one mounted on my transmision hump..... Its chrome too :headbang: Its quite the conversation piece. Ialso had the oppurtunity to put out a ladys car one time. She didn't reinbuse me for my expenses, but I figured she had enough problems already :giggle:
