Well the day finally came for me to use my Swissvax Divine, now the day couldn’t have been better. Blue sky’s, nothing but sunshine and temperature was at around 20C. It was perfect. Now the vehicle of choice: 1995 Volvo 960 I have previously given the Volvo a full paint correction a few months ago and I gave it a quick inspecting with the help of my 3M Sun Gun and has a bit of micro marring but nothing to bad so I didn’t bother with polishing the vehicle, I’ll save it for another day. So this was a basic wash and wax. Now first here is the vehicle prior to starting: As you can see just a bit dirty but nothing serious. First up I got my CR System ready: Still giving me Deionized water :thumb: Now for the soap, I wanted to completely remove the two coats of Vintage the Volvo had so I needed something strong. For this I went with P21S Total Auto Wash as soap, two bucket method with grit guard and the Zymol sponge was used: The entire vehicle was washed thoroughly making sure that all previous LSP is striped, once I was sure that the previous coats of Vintage had been removed the vehicle was rinsed off with Dionized water the vehicle was then dried of a waffle weaved micro fiber towel: Now you may be thinking what about the rims? Well the rims were taken care of my helpers: Yes, we had a little family get together today and I had two volunteers willing to help me out, first up: On the two front rims my nease. On the passenger rims my little princess. Both working away on the rims. Here they are all done with the rims and they wanted to show me how bad the rims were: Now vehicle has been dried rims are spotless and time to get started on the exterior of the vehicle, first up I had another little helper who was helping me by passing me products so first up Swissvax Cleaner Fluid: Little helper volunteered to hold and pass me products as I needed them (that’s my nephew, so adorable too) So Cleaner Fluid is applied section by section, I have to admit I’m quite pleased with this product but very time consuming if your by your self. Well Cleaner Fluid is applied and removed through out the entire vehicle and now for the main event: Again my little helper holding up the Divine container. Now one thing to note here is that I got my Divine to be formulated for: Obviously the vehicle I’m applying on is not Italian but oh well  Now I opened one of the Divine containers and I wanted to apply it by hand, as I personally prefer it but with this wax there is no way I could have done that. The wax is hard as a rock, I kid you not it’s hard as a diamond. Like I said I wanted to apply it by hand so I tried to scoop a small amount out of it and I couldn’t, I applied lots of pressure to try and scoop a sample and just couldn’t, the only thing I could do is rub the surface with my fingers and get it to slightly melt on the surface. So I decided to apply Divine with one of my German applicators: Now Rich from Polished Bliss told me that these German applicators work great at delivering an extremely thin amount of wax on the surface of the vehicle, I didn’t believe it as I personally don’t like applying wax by applicators but Rich is an honest person and I trust him so I ordered a bunch of these German applicators and I’m glad I did, you’ll see what I mean shortly. So got to work: With the applicator I scraped the surface of Divine and went to work: I applied Divine through out the entire vehicle and look at how well the applicator applied Divine: It’s so thin that in some areas I applied a few extra layers of Divine to make sure the surface was well covered. Well the red side of the German applicator works extremely well at applying an extremely thin coat of wax on the vehicle and for Divine it looks like this is the way I’m going to have to apply it. Well Divine was left to cure for 30minuets, the directions say to leave it on for 10minuets but wile the wax was left to cure I applied a healthy coat of DG 105 on the rims that my little helpers helped me out with: The tires received a good coat of Zymol Tyre: Now it was time to remove Divine, now to be honest prior to start I was expecting to have my work cut out on the removal but to be honest it was quite easy to remove, actually it was really easy to remove. To remove Divine I used a Cookie monster micro fiber towel: Now I removed a section of the hood and I was quite impressed with the difference: Well Divine was removed buffed off with one Cookie Monster followed up with a final wipe down with another cookie Monster giving the following results: Oh as you saw by the reflection I put up some of the banners I recently purchased and had made for me :thumb: Well for my final thoughts on Divine, I am very impressed with the depth and glow it left. It’s an extremely hard wax and not too bad to apply, the removal of this wax is extremely easy. As to the end results, I wasn’t able to see the vehicle outside under sun light but from what I could see with the end results it’s a very good wax. Now for the main questions “How does it compare to Vintage?”. Well to be honest I can’t really comment on that just yet as I haven’t seen the car outside, first impression (inside the garage with lots of lights) is that it definitely competes with Vintage and my personal opinion is that it seems to have an edge on it but I need to see the vehicle outside to confirm this. Next question I know will be asked “Is it worth the money?”. Now this question really comes down to personal taste/opinion. For me, the results are well worth it but again that’s just me, so for me it’s worth the money. Next question “How does it compare to Swissvax Mystery or Best of Show?”. I haven’t used my Mystery just yet so I can’t compare it but I have used Best of Show and I have to admit Divine blow's Best of Show out of the water, again this is just my personal opinion. Best of show is one of the wax’s that really got my attention and you can really tell the difference when you use Best of Show but for me Divine blue it out of the water. Next question “How much did you use per application?” I can’t really give a precise number here meaning per oz but my guess would be that maybe 1oz was used if that, here is a picture of the container after applying a coat on the entire vehicle with my German applicator: Now how it was before is that the wax was all the way to the lip of the container that’s the best comparison I can give. If I keep applying Divine with a German applicator which I will be doing, Divine is going to last me quite some time. Well feel free to ask questions I'll do my best to answer them but please don't think that I'm an expert on Divine because I'm not and I'm just starting to use it. Hope you enjoyed the detail/review. Updated on April 16, 2008 Finally a day with nothing but blue skies and sun :woo:. Now to put Divine to the true test, under direct sun light. Here are some pictures with my new Sigma 10-20mm lens, hope you enjoy. I will let you see the pictures and video first and then I'll give my feed back, enjoy: Ah yes, lovely distortion. Makes the hood look longer then it actually is but I still like it :headbang: Look at those flakes, I seriously didn't know the Volvo had flakes!! :druling: :druling: I like this picture Lastly the walk around video: Now, I couldn't compare Divine untill I could see the vehicle outside under direct sun light and seeing the Volvo outside was breath taking. There is a difference between Vintage compared to Divine. Divine gave the forest green colour more glow, more wormth, more pop. Yes, more pop. Divine did not mute the flakes, in fact I didn't even know my Volvo had flakes in it. I couldn't see the flakes with Vintage. To conclude my personal opinion is that Divine has an edge to Vintage, in apperance, depth and glow it leaves the vehicle with. There is a difference between these two waxes, no question about it. Hope you enjoyed the pictures :thumb:
This is what Ive been waiting for! Looks awesome! I love those applicators too, I used when applying Vintage, super thin..... It looked like a sweat shop u had going on... Please update us on sun shots!
Great, cant wait to hear more comparisons between Divine and other waxes, and then the Crystal Rock when you get that right....:worship2: The only thing with Swissvax, i found out the container is really deceiving. You would "think" the whole container is filled from bottom to top, but i saw one come apart. its actually 2 pieces, the outer part where the label is on, and then the part the lid screws on where the wax is. There is actually about half an inch of air on the bottom of the pot. :yikes: Just thought id share.
sorry, just noticing, what is the white side of the applicator for? dont have this applicator, but i thought the white side was softer and for LSP application.
Glad you enjoyed it FMINUS, Divine lived up to my expectations now I'll give a day to see if it enhances the depth and apperance to the vehicle and it's supposed to be sunny tomorrow as well so I'll pull it out and snap some pictures of the vehicle. So far I'm very impressed with Divine. The German applicators are great, very glad I listend to Rich on this one :thumb: Hopefully tomorrow I'll add more pictures to the original post, with full sun pictures. I think they just protect some kind of sensors on the unit? I'm honestly not sure what the purpose of those things was. From what I can see they do something with the sensor but I thought all units had them
Yes, many more comparisons are to come. I will put Divine to the test with my entire colection of wax's. As soon as Crystal Rock is released I plan on adding it to my collection and ofcourse comparing it with the rest. I've also got another wax coming but like all good things in life, I have to wait for it. Calgarydetail and I will ge together soon to do the Divine Vs Vintage comparison, I was hoping it would have happend today but no luck. But we will be doing it very soon. As to the two peaces of Divine that's new to me The white side of the German applicator is quite rough and Rick recomended that the white side be used with polish products. Clark told me that the white sie of the German applicators can induce micro marring on certain clearcoats. Even the red side can cause micro marring, it all depends on the clear coat. The red side is very soft and I've designated the German applicator I used strickly for Divine now. I'll do the same to the rest German applicators as I use them with certain wax's.
I've seen these around FMINUS, not sure if they are the same applicators though you know how things work probably made by the same company just manactured to different vendors but that's just my guess. Well wasen't sure what else to call it getcha but it was one heck of a wash and wax :thumb: I got my German applicators from Rich owner of Polished Bliss UK http://www.detailingbliss.com/forum/f39/another-order-order-up-1885.html
I have nothing but good things to say about Rich, really good guy to deal with...you never know one of these days he may be the 5th forum sponsor....you just never know If you ever place another order with him matrix, well anyone who sell these applicators you'll want to get a few of them they are worth it. I have never been able to get wax to go on so thin as the German applicator got it. I'm used to doing it by hand but shame that Divine wont let me man handle it the way I wish I could...maybe it's a good thing as I wouldn't want to waist it as I do with Vintage. Well my Lexus needs a coat of Divine too, that's up next. I'll keep playing around with Divine to get a better feel of it and I'll share my experiance and opinion with you guys.
well i dont have Divine, only Mystery and to me that is pretty rock solid. Definitely hard to scoop that out by hand as well. Would be interesting to know how Divine compares to Mystery in terms of hardness.
i've seen this youtube video of a guy over on DW applying Divine by hand. He makes it look very easy to get out of the tub. YouTube - Application discussion
I've been waiting for this WOOO it looks good in the garage. Can't wait for some outside pics and beading pics!!
Looks GREAT Carlos! I have german applicators to, but they are orange on the bottom and soft gray on the top. Those from Autogeek. Love how the volvo look, looks nice. Can`t wait to get my divine, its being made THIS week!! Would be fun to compare my german version and your italian!!
Wow he really does make it look easy, but once you get a nice groove going like he said I can see it being easy to do what he's doing. I think I'll stick to the German applicator though. As to which is harder, Mystery or Divine I'm curious too. I've only opened Mystery to smell it but other then that, that's about all I've done with my Mystery  Glad you like it so far klumz, hopefully I'll be able to do a walk around video too :thumb:
hey pirex, so are the Autogeek ones good? it applies a thinner layer than regular yellow foam applicators? Ya Nica, at that price and no refills, i think i too would want to get as much out of the wax and not over apply like when using your hands. Cant wait to hear more wax reviews.:applause2:opcorn:
pirex my Divine brotha :chest: Yea looks like there are a few different versions of these German applicators  That would be sweet to ge together and compare the Italian version I got Vs your German version :druling: I'm looking forward to your thoughts/opinion/review when you get your's bro :applause2: :applause2:
