So I have been saving up money now for months and with this year's tax return I finally have the money to make the ultimate purchase but before I do, I wanted to get feedback for the final time on what you guys think of the new steamer I want to get. here is a link below to a youtube video displaying its uses in auto detailing: YouTube - Optima Steamer, Steam Car Wash, mainesteam.com now this past year was a learning curve for me in detailing cars and in short, I learned that 90% of my customers want their interiors cleaned, vacumed, and any smells completely gone. this machine will do all of this without using chemicals. the only thing here is I am getting cold feet right before my purchase and wanted to hear from you guys if you think I will get alot of customers that want a machine that disinfects inside of a car, removes any and all odors because the steam kills germs that are hanging out in the car, this machine has a moisture adjustment setting to it so that I can raise the moisture to steam clean the exterior, engine and wheel wells and then lower the moisture to "dry vapor" which is basically really hot air with some water in it that kills all the odors once it comes in contact with them which gives the car an immediate fresh clean car smell and it is dry right away. any thoughts? I have made a complete price list of the different services that I have come up with so far trying to anticipate what the customers will be willing to pay even in a bad economy. thanks for the feedback everyone, you have always been helpful godoman
it will run me upwards of 6000 dollars. meet with a tax attorney this coming friday to discuss tax returns for small businesses to make sure that this unit qualifies to be claimed. dont want to buy it and not be able to get tax credit for buying it. my primary focus will be on doing the interiors. the outside of a really dirty car will take 15 minutes if I work alone but this unit can produce steam from two hose at the same time, which it comes with, so if I have myself and an employee I can do each car say at a mall parking garage or expensive hotel garage and we can jam out many cars per day. with no water run off, no chemicals and no polution and a minimal amount of water being used for each car it could do well. I really want it to take off with the interiors though. hoping that there are alot of people out there that desperately need to get rid of odors in their cars like smokers. I used my vx5000 on several smoker cars, including my own, and the smoking smell is permanately gone and that is with a steamer that is very weak compared to this unit. godoman
I guess if you are going for volume it would be a great unit... I love my VX5000 but I'm not trying to jam out cars in a parking lot...
I am also going to be trying to impress the local auto dealerships in my surrounding area by being mobile and with coming to them and offering them the service of removing smells from their cars I think they will be up for it. talked to the honda used car dealership and they said they will pay me 100 dollars per car and they would give me min of 3 to 5 cars per day. this is for a basic detail of course and with this added service I am hoping to get alot of business all over the place. godoman
