Just recently completed, a new client sought me out to bring his "New to him" Ferrari up to the top level appearance wise and as it was a busy week with multiple correction details Daniel @ Car Connoisseur came up from the Valley in So.Cal to help me with his top level skillset. After a through wash and decon steps here we are prepping the car for the clearfilm wrap the car was receiving in addition to the detail. At the time of this detail "Café Spa" came in to shoot a video of Daniel and I working, Christensen asking me questions related to measuring the film build of the paint with a DeFelsko 200 Advanced gauge. The condition of this vehicle was not terrible, but the usual sanding scratches Ferrari's are known for were present and needed to addressed. Correction of this part of the panel. Under this badge was holograms and sand scratches, the following pics show the removal of those defects. Maranello sanding scratches in the intake cove............. just lovely, hand correction needed. More holograms(Rotary buffer induced)along with factory installed sand scratches tell me the car never received a proper corrective detail..........from 2009 to this day. After compounding but before medium and final polishing. Factory stuff that slipped through QC. All better. Carbon diffuser polishing task. After all the compounding and medium polishing steps, I switched gears and went after the engine bay which was greasy and the exhaust can was water spotted with "Blueing" which is a funny description as in reality looks bronze/orange in color. Correction of the exhaust can to a high luster. Engine cover correction to remove haze and restore optimized clarity once again. Carbon drip rails and airboxed corrected and polished to a beautiful finish.
Time to optimize the carbon door shells, sand scratch haze left behind. Improvement in progress. Looking good once again. Finished pics in the sun.
