Ferrari 458 New Car prep Brand new car coated with 22PLE New client of mine has seen my work on numerous forums and finally called me out to detail it. The car only has 271 miles on it, but it was never properly detailed. Typical from Ferrari, it was full of sanding scratches (read as 90% of the passenger door) along the edges, around the door handles, etc. Add in some hologramming from improper polishing work and a slightly dull red paintjob, you know you have an improperly detailed car! This is where I come in… Upon arrival, I could see the car was looking a bit off. I did my pre paint correction inspection searching for problem areas. Found defects in the passenger door, hood, roof, rear…basically the whole car. Also, there was a fair amount of overspray on the windshield in Ferrari red! I knew I needed to figure out a good combination of products to reduce the paintwork damage, restore the gloss and clarity in the paint, and get the car ready for the 22PLE coating application. Here are the before pictures depicting the starting condition: You can see the buffer chatter here in these two pics out in the sun Here are some sanding scratches still in the door. How a car gets passed off as sellable in this condition is beyond me. Working my way around the car After three steps of heavy compounding on the door (defects did not want to remove), and two steps on the rest of the car, IPA wipedown, 22PLE coating application. This is a must for all cars in my opinion! You can contact me for a detailer in your area who might be able to install this coating on your car if not in the so cal area. Paint was harder than I expected, but still cleaned up nicely. Ferrari California is coming up next!
