Here's a photo of a Ferrari 458 Italia non-metaphorically catching fire on a Paris street. The 458 Italia's driver first noticed the fire in one of the rear wheel wells when it began to spread quickly. Luckily, a passer-by handily equipped with a large fire-extinguisher happened to come by promptly enough to put out the flames. No one was hurt in the incident but damage to the vehicle was substantial. The cause of the fire remains unknown. Scary to witness how flammable such a pricey super car can be. There was a time when most sports car carried a fire-extinguisher on board, I still carry (Groit's Garage) one in each car. I once used it on a Bentley GT that had an engine fire in central London (outside Harrods). From the thanks recived from the Arabic driver you'd think I'd saved his first born.
