I have both the 1z spray wax, mothers showtime (crap), and the adams detail spray. I have started using the adams DS on my wet car, then dry off and i was really blown away with the look. Now, this has got me wondering, since i dont really care for the smell of the adams DS, what other QD's people like and why? Im going to pick up some Prima Hyrdo and Slick in my next order from DD and was hoping to get some advice and insight from the more experienced members here. thanks guys!
Chemical guys pro detailer, Chemical guys synthetic detailer,Zaino z6, Chemical guys synthetic detailer, and Megs ultimate detailer on beaters. they all smell good. ONR; I have found it makes an awesome clay lube if you add a little shampoo to it, BUT, it actually makes a great spray detailer to wipe down the car if its dusty. I spray it on let it dwell for a minute and gently wipe it off. it leaves an awesome shine and does not scratch.
1. FK425 - slickest 2. OID - slick but smearing, go with 1:4 dilution should reduce it 3. Meguiars Last Touch - good all around, specifically for cleaning 4. Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer/M135 - a bit of bling bling and hydrophobic, but slickness is way behind others Oh all 4 are in order based on my personal preference
Adams,Prima Slick . I love Prima Hydro but its not really a QD is more of a wax as you dry type sealant.
-Gloss It QD is one of my favorite. It's expensive, so I don't use it often. Love the smell, love the cleaning action, love the shine, and slickness... -Optimum QID is another favorite is and THE BEST IMO QD for the buck (@ dillution ratio 4:1 one gallon actually makes 5 gallons of QD, and that's that's $12 a gallon if you purchase a gallon). It's slick, cleans well, leaves glossy finish, and smells awesome!
I use FK425 and SCG Hot Rod quick detailer. I'll be trying the ONR version once i'm out of the SCG, which will be a while since i have the 64OZ size. I almost forgot (to the OP), the SCG Hot Rod smells like cinnamon, very similar to Big Red chewing gum.
Prima Slick is my #1. Hydro is good as well it is more of a sealant but once you try it you will prob use it after every wash. Both smell good too.
another question. is it common for people to spray QD over a damp car and then wipe? what does this do exactly for you? just add slickness, or is it an additional step to speed up QD application?
my personal favorite is gloss-it's QD. altho lately, i've been using Reload when drying my car. awesome stuff! i think the method was originally intended for people that have really hard water in their area. it sure does add more gloss and slickness tho!
makes it easier to dry the car without leaving any streaks. Prima Slick is my favorite QD. Prima Hydro is also great as a spray sealant to boost any current protection on the paint. I also used Adam's detail spray, it's pretty good but I think Prima Slick is better.
