So i have been researching but need some reassurance from you professionals.......i have read that in order to remove fall out rust spots is to clay, but i tried and it doesnt remove the spots; it takes the contaminants out but not what has already reacted. And i have read that i would need decontaminate it with a solvent but the problem is im in Canada and the products are hard to find here. I have called the markV website and they said it would cost $300US just to ship the product to me. So i was wondering what other recommendations on what to do and if you're from Canada, direct me to find a product. Thanks
try valugard from detailersdomain http://www.detailersdomain.com/valugardneutralizationsystemabkit.aspx
i shouldnt say its hard to find in Canada, its just that i live in a small city, Regina Sk............i cant find anything here.
There is a Valu Gaurd supplier in Canada. I do not remember their name but its on here somewhere if you run a search for Valu Gaurd.
Mark V has a shop in US, so It wouldn't need 300 bucks I don't think. They have the 16oz fallout remover for 20-30 dollars shipped, unless you wanted these in the gallons.
Vinegar.........no not at all..........would it work......as for dilution, i would like to know what the amounts are, since it is acid.
Aquartz Iron Cut is a one-step, highly effective car paint decontamination, beyond what can be removed by washing or claying, with the cleaning power of an acid with a (safe) pH of 7.0, by using a neutralised acid salt Neutralization is the reaction between an acid and a base (alkaline) producing a salt and neutralized base; common examples include acetic acid and sulphuric acid (hence the red colour, which is a chemical reaction (oxidation) with the metal particles) contains neutralised acid salt that effectively dissolve the sintered brake dust particles by forming a water soluble complex that can be rinsed away. Acid wash and neutraliser rinse - by using an acid solution on the paint surface the micro-fissures (‘pores’) are expanded, as the acid / water is subjected to an exothermic reaction (heat is evolved when water and acid mix together) This means it agitates and loosens any aluminium particles or other debris and will also flush out any solvents. Then use an alkaline neutralising wash; using a clean dry sponge or wax applicator pad, apply the alkaline neutraliser to the paint surface paint surfaces and allow to dwell, but do not allow solution to dry on vehicle Request e-shine become a vendor (IMO this is the BEST single -step product of its kind)
this works Finish Kare Paint Decontamination http://autogeek.net/finish-kare-paint-cleaning-system.html
Use caution with this product Mark V Fallout Remover is formulated with- Oxalic acid is a relatively strong "weak acid" Oxalic acid exhibits many of the reactions characteristic of other carboxylic acids, it’s a relatively strong organic acid, being about 10,000 times stronger than acetic acid (Vinegar). It tends to soften the clear coat; it bleaches uncoated metals and etches glass. This acid still needs to be handled with care and should not be allowed to dry on a paint surface. Sulfamic Acid may be considered an intermediate compound between sulphuric acid (H2SO4), and sulfamide (H4N2SO2)
Was anyone successful at finding a Canadian source? I also could not find a place. Went to a Honda and Subaru dealershop and they said they would not sell it or they send this work to a bodyshop. Was thinking of going to a Ford dealer but unsure of which one. I was suggested to go to a body shop which is the next place I'll try. However if anyone has had any luck, that would be great if you could share.
The Valu Guard is available over the counter at your Ford dealership. They re-brand it Mastercraft. I used to have the Ford part #'s but the link is no longer working for me. If you do some digging at your local Ford dealership, I'm sure you'll find it.
