My sisters new boyfriend asked me to look at his work truck. He said he was painting a firehydren and the overspray went all over the truck. You could see the yellow flakes all ovder the place. He said he tried everything to get it off. I clayed just the fender and he was shocked that the yellow was gone. So today I was helping my mother with a garage sale and he drove up and asked if I could detail the outside of the truck. So of course I did. Washed with ONR Clayed with Meg aggressive clay using ONR as lube Polished with PC speed 6 LC 4" Oranage pad with M105 4" LC white pad speed 5 then down to speed 3 with M205 Meg D151 on all black trim to remove the white dried up wax (he did not want any treatement added to the trim but I wanted to remove the wax from his wax job) Zep Citrus to clean the wheels, tires and wheel wells Meguiars ASD on wells Meg Hot shine on wheels Surf City Cleary Better on all glass FK1 1000p as my LSP Once again I am not good at pics but here they are Before The Hood outside http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i66/salstang/detail/RedsTruck15.jpg[/IMG [IMG]http://i69.photobucket.com/albums/i66/salstang/detail/RedsTruck19.jpg Trying to capture the yellow overspray not so good lol After Clay Ok I cheated I paid my stepson (in green) and my brother to clean the wheels, tires and wells lol Ok back to the after the wash and clay pics lol Under Halogen (sorry the only one that showed up decent) Scratches After M105 scratches gone After pics
Sal..if you impressed him at first getting the overspray off, I can just imagine how his reaction was to seeing it all done. Way to go!
Looks great! Pickup trucks need love too! Great tip on using 105 on black trim. I'd never heard of this either.
Great work Sal. I bet after you finished it he takes a little more care not to get hydrant paint on such a beautiful finish.
I used 151 :thumb: I tried it on a small area first and on the bed and it worked great so I did all the plastic. Thanks guys for the compliments 2 beading pictures from today
Job well done and if that aint child labour I don't know what it is :giggle: Just teasing, nothing wrong with getting kids to help out, there arms are nice and small and can reach tight areas :thumb: I use...er..I mean my little girl helps me out form time to time  By the way I've deleted the very last picture, the one that showed your detailing company.
